Default Omaha + Noob?

How hard is it gonna be for me to adapt my pretty succesful NL holdem game to play omaha? I just want a little change and wondering what you guys think.

It's very easy (at lower limits)

However this is a game that sends you on tilt more than any other game-e.g. today:
99% of the time I miss the flop completely no matter how good the starting hands
100% of the time I get sucked out on the river by ridonkulous hands

I guess this is a high-variance game so be careful.

PPL here seem to like O8 but I strongly advise you to start with PLO- imho O8 is a quite complex game when you have to track both potential low+high hands, potential split pots etc.!

I went the other direction when I picked up Omaha - I went straight to Hi/Lo, but I played limit.

I find pot-limit games a little hard to get a handle on, because the bets you place on earlier streets directly influence the possible bet sizes on later streets. No-limit is easier because the max bets are always the size of the stacks involved and it doesn't change from street to street.

I like Hi/Lo because I like more ways of making hands. Split pots aren't as much of an issue if you can get more chips (or dead chips) into the pot, or if you can scoop. There's not always a low hand, either.

I suggest trying the different games out and see which you like.

My problem is this- often 6-7 see the flop (lower limits), and I may have the nut low or 2nd nut low, or a draw to it. Now figuring out whether I want to stay in or not isn't that easy- but I'm very new to this game so maybe it isn't as difficult.

ah well i think im going to start with what Da fish say as he says easyer statistics. This game does seem quite hard to me (not because of ther competition) but because of there is more to calculate ahh!
