Default Keeping your concentration

Concentration and mental state of mind is probably the most important thing IMHO whilst playing online poker.

I was just wondering what people put in their minds whilst playing, especially if you play for many hours, so that you keep your game mind on at all times and don't lower your standards.

My current set up is a room with dim lighting and scented candles. I also listen to native american tribal music or the sounds of nature to further relax.

There is a book called the Psychology of Poker by Schoonberg. I am not sure it is quite what you are looking for though.

You would be better of looking for texts on Sports Psychology or even just general positive thinking. Deepak Chopra writes some good stuff on Sports Psychology.

Look into something like meditation/yoga/karate to improve discipline and concentration.

I try to play in short periods. It enables me to concentrate more without getting burned out too quickly.

The main problem i seem to have is, after i win some good money, i start to relax and just play a lot worse. My mentality changes and i don;t play the same way. Something i need to seriously look at.

^^^I have the same problem man. I can win a big pot and play carelessly after and start losing a big chunk of my bankroll. I never tried it yet, but if anyone here drinks vitamin water by Glaceau, there is one called focus, maybe it helps a little. i'll go get one today and see.
