Default Live observations

This is a hand I read about I think some will be surprised with.

This is a major (10k) tourney - you will be the author in this.

Still early, blinds are 100/200 and no ante yet.

Your stack is 10,200 after posting the BB. UTG called the blind, this player raises with good hands and calls with weak hands. Also, his hand motion indicated weakness.

This lead to a string of limpers, and it makes to you unraised with 1300 in the pot.

You see and use this show of weakness to pick up the pot with a raise to $2k (10xBB, pretty strong raise eh?).

It folds to the button who pushes all-in, and has you covered.

This player had moved all-in in spots where he could have been bluffing and never had to show a hand, also, you observed his player preparing to muck his hand until he saw everyone folding ahead of him.

How do you play this from here?

Details in white below
This is from Dan Harrington's book. Dan put the guy on a low pair, A-x, or a small pair, even a complete bluff He figured a high pair would have raised already. He figured he was getting the right odds and called. The guy had 76o the flop was 7 5 4 but Dan rivered a K.

I'd have put him on a pair - 1010 99 88

Given the money already in the pot I may have called and expected a coinflip.

Interesting hand though relating to raising out of the blinds.

I think he has an A7s-AJish or a low to mid pair, I really can't seem him limp re-rasing from the button with anything decent. That being said I'm calling and GAMBOOLING.

Rethinking it, it may be WAY to early to make a play like this. I dont want to flip a coin for all my chips when I'm still in good position. I really don't like the preflop play though, I'll check and play it for big hand value.

tough choice, my guess is every possible hand he has makes it about 50/50 you are ahead, maybe a little higher on your side, 55/45 in your favor.

your getting 13,500 on an 8000 call. my math says do it!

At a major tournament where my skill is lower than many of the players, i think calling its better, since the odds are in my favor. At an online tournament (20$, 30$) its better to fold, to avoid a coinflip for all of my chips, since i have so many left yet.

I am very surprised Dan Harrington thinks that its better to call.
