Default cash game question

Maybe some body out there can point me in the right direction? I do very well at tournies (usually in the money or just out of it). But I can only break even at cash games. The really frustrating part is that these cash game players really suck. Any suggestions? And please save the inevitable "Don't play cash games." for another time...thanks

Generically, tourny players give up edges that need to be exploited in cash games. Thats the nutshell of the generic theoretical answer.

OF course, you could be talking the last 3-4 months fo your buddies, and its all luck. Littel more detail please.

i had that problem. i started out playing s/gs and mtts.

1 would be to bonus whore and get rakeback from a party skin
2 hands like 99, in a tourney they are right to raise in any spot limping is out of the question most of the time. in ring though, its a limp. thats prob the biggest thing you have to get over. you dont have to win every pot. the pots you win you want to get the most out of. you can slowplay more you dont have to bat every pot hard. you like multiway pots. you dont always need to get it HU. shit like that is vital for tourney and s/g play but in ring it dont work.

i guess like marm said. mtts you try to win every pot you come in with a raise. in ring you dont have to and want to get value out of your hands instead of stay alive/chip up

but if you bonus whore and get rakeback even if you break even you are still making a great $/hr

I can't tell you of any flaws in your game, but this quote is a major flaw in your mentality. You're asking for feedback, but your blaming other people for your losses. Cash games are always gonna be a more consistent profit over long periods of time than tournaments. I made a killing early last year in tournments and damn near bombed for the rest of the year.

A strong foundation in the fundamentals will help you to know the game but won't be the deciding factor in your results. Patience and discipline hold you close to those fundamentals and making decisions based on situations (players, position, game strength) ALONG with the cards are the key to showing a profit.

Bonus whoring is just taking advantage of the deposit bonuses on every site.
Rakeback: if you're playing PS dont worry about it. I dont think there are any PS rakebackers. Though I could be wrong? :\

nothing on ps thats why ps sucks. no rakeback and very rare bonuses. stars is also much tighter and fewer tables. party is the place to play. tons of fish and 5 bonuses a month and theres 4 party skins? lol + theres always rakeback...

for the 20% reload bonus on 1k im making about $15/hr just from the bonus!!

so that really helps while you are still learning. you can break even at the tables and still come away with a nice profit. also im getting 25% of my rake back at the end of the month

you would think im working for party of something with my last few posts lol, but ive just seen the light and im trying to help you guys out
