Default 1000 hand challenge

Does anybody want to play a 1000 hand challenge?

Basically we have to sit at a cash table for 1000 consecutive hands. This can be at any level.

We can then place a side bet on who makes the most profit/least loss during the session. If a site allows "cheat rebuys" these are not allowed, and normal rebuys/top ups must be deducted from end stack.

Anybody want to do this?

Are we doing this at the same table together or are we at different tables at the same stakes and just keeping an eye on each other?

Same table - otherwise time to complete 1000 hands could vary by hour or more if games go shorthanded/ have lots of slow multitablers etc.

If possible try and sit at opposite ends of table so as to remove any positional advantage.

also there is the "double or nothing" varient of the 1,000 hand challenge where the winner pas the loser the amount the winner won or lost... so the winner either breaks even or doubles his profit

Yeah. This sounds like fun, but I think adding the booking element make this better and will get more people interested.

i.e.
Wota and I sit in a $10NL game and the bet in $50.

Wota makes $40 in the 1000 and I bluff people with a malfunctioning fold button to only make $7. We could do 2 things here. We could:

A.) I pay you $50+[.25($40-$7)] or something

or

B.) I pay you $43 because you match my $7 back to me.

A friend of mine and I did a micro-BR challenge that was a ton of fun. I'll dig up the link.

If me and you do it Alex should be at $50NL.

I guess in 1000 hands at $50 NL you can win or lose several hundred dollars so need to be x% x profit difference.

Nah man, full ring. That way more people can play.

To hell with it. If you do this at Party I would play NL25 with the last $40 I have on there. Maybe I could get some pointers...

So we're talking about doing a pool? I thought this was a series of 1-on-1's of individuals challenging each other.

Instead of percentages, we're talking about bbs, then.

I'll do whatever. I think it's better at the same level because there aren't any competition arguments.

$1 games = $10 games
$25 games = $100 games
$200 games =$2k games and so on, IMO.

This is a short term challenge and because of that, I think it'd better if everyone did it at a cheapest level because we'll be playing to win the 1k hand bet.

I was thinking more of a series of 1 -1 challenges. Will be very difficult to arrange a time when 4+ people are free for 12 hours.

Also, would be nice to actually have good EV during the challenge aswell rather than filling a 6 max table with PFO members.

KR8R - if you want to join challenge with last of your BR you would need to commit to paying off any bets should you lose (unless you just wanted to sit at the same table for the crack).

I'm free to do this coming Saturday or Sunday. Could also start it around 12 EST to run alongside one of the deepstacks on Stars.

Who is going to want to play that time? Then we can work out terms.
