Poker Goals(2)
My goal for 2005 was to build a .1/.25 NLHE bankroll. Well, that took me 2 weeks. I don't really know what my "new" goal will be. I like to take it 1 step at a time and shoot for around 600 for .25/.5. I think my 2005 goal may even be as high as a couple thousand in my PS account. I think I will have to work hard, but its possible.

I built my roll on the .10/.25 and .25/.50 tables. You're a good player. No need to rush. You can build a healthier roll than 600 on those tables before going bigger. Maybe, your next goal should be getting to 1K and then diversifying your games more. I'm tellin' you, brother. PLO is the juiciest game alive right now, but it requires a healthy 20 buy in BR at the least.

When you get up to about $500, play the .05/.10 PLO games on PokerStars while playing the NLHE games. You should actually come over to UB. There's more Omaha action. More people buying in for the full amount and 10-handed tables so you spend less around the table.
Pick up Championship Omaha by Bob Ciaffone and Play Poker Like the Pros (Hellmuth) if you haven't already. I suggest that you study those books in order. Ciaffone's book was easier to understand and Hellmuth gave me some great guidelines and moves to execute Ciaffone's fundamentals.

UB doesn't work well with my computer, I couldn't tell you why.

Hey Bonch,
I once went to seminar on goal setting, you should set not only short term goals but long term goals, that way your current situation will never arrive. If you ever have the chance to go to one of these do not pass it up!
The speaker started out with data from a survey conducted at Harvard U 10 years prior. they discovered only 3 students had written down there goals. 10 years after, those 3 students were worth more money than the rest of their graduating class combined.
You should constantly refer to (I keep them in my wallett) your short term goals and revise them but always keep your longterm goals.

Good point, Steve. I still keep the one from my college orientation on my bathroom mirror. I've added a couple thangs or dos here and there.

Hey Bonch, I started playing $2PLO on UB in early 2004 when I got burnt out on SnGs, and didn't feel like playing hold'en ring games ( I had actually never played a limit hold'em yet).
Anyway, they are fun, and I made a little money. Championship Omaha is a Cloutier book, not Ciaffone. Play Poker Like the Pro's was all I read when I started.
My only improvement on Phil's advice is that he over values AAxx.
Oh yeah, good start to the year! Hopefully you won't hit any snags.

I meant Omaha Hold 'em Poker by Ciaffone. I just finished re-reading Championship Omaha. The penny Omaha games are a ton o' fun.
I'm going to bed now.

Updates?
So how are you guys coming on your goals? I am up 76% for the year so far, not bad, only about 1/3 of that is through play, and the rest is bonuses and stuff, but still, I will take it!
I have been playing Omaha on Party, Eurotrash, and UB and limit holdem on UB, and PS, a lilttle on Party. Haven't really tackled PLO8 like I wanted to yet, and I gave up on my SnG building on AP, still have the money, but those games are painfully slow.
Playing so tightly the first few months of this year and december is starting to take it's toll, but the 5c/10c games on PS are a good tilt rememby.
I even monied in a few MTTs, need to hit another final table though.
