fuzz, I think you are taking the percentage thing a little too literally.

Round it to the nearest 25$. or at least the nearest ten. drop back down when you are down more than 10% problably 20%.

like right now you have 594.

Call 5% 25$ 30$

drop it down to 20 when you are down to something like 400 or 450.

Of course, it really doesnt matter.

Also, if you are playing with more than 40bbs, you may want to play a little more than just allin poker - of course if it is working - keep it up.

good luck

Play the whole thing out, your not looking to lose $1, your looking to lose $2 when you put your money in the middle (since youll win more when all of your money is there) Quit when you hit $4 then reload, but at lower stakes I think Grinding is better.. sit with $2 play until a certain amount or such..

... Oh and I hope your not playing .10/.20 NL with a $100 stack

Just a quick update, I dont have my stats to hand at the moment but since I started this, im up quite a bit.

I started with $540 ish.... I now have ... $721 and its only been 4 days. Ive taken down some big pots in the $120 range with decent hands, mainly full houses or flopping the nuts.

Its going good - Im going to push my buyin up to $35 now, and try to leave with $70. Ive only hit about 2 bad sessions out of 12, so far, fingers crossed.

Variance is a bitch!

Ive found out that my discipline is weak, very weak, I would often double up on tables and then not leave, hence just not going to plan. This has seen my roll jump up to near $800 and then back down to $570.

Im still going to see this through, but im jumping down a limit to .25c/.50c NL

5% at current is $28.50, so say $25 since I want to limit my losses as much as possible... Mind you my bankroll is still ok, just hit a lot of ups and downs in the last week - ive improved my VIP status on Betfred!

You're at $570?

Full stack the $25 games and grind it out. You'll make a real BR out of that.

The problem is if you are bringing 5% of your roll in everytime you are going to take alot of major, major swings. I've short stacked a fair bit and often lose 7-8 buy-ins and that could really kick your roll in the nuts if you do it.

I think that 5% is fine when you are playing full-stacks, but then I don't think you can really use the SS method.
In hindsight you were right. As ever.

The swings were big and I had only lost 6 buyins the other way, but it started to put me on tilt going all in with JJ or AQ, which is less than profitable after theyve reraised your reraise!

Im going to grind at the $25 max tables now, which are about 5% of my bankroll at the moment, will look to double up through grinding and repeat...

Ive been playing them for the last 2 years or so, I think its time I gave myself a new challenge, and to see if I can step up somewhat.

I guess so, but shouldn't you have a bankroll bigger than $570 for that? I just started $25 games and I've been up and down and up and down with wider left lanes, if you know what I mean.
