Default Can I get a ruling, please?

I went back for some 2/4 live this afternoon after dipping my toe in the water yesterday and finding it warm and welcoming. So, after being there a while, my table happened to clear out quickly and for a short time we had only 4 players.

I was in the BB. CO raises. I hold . Reraise. CO caps.

I mean, I thought he capped. I called his alleged cap, and he threw more money in. The dealer looks at me like I need to do something, I'm like I just called his bet. The other 2 guys at the table agree with me. Dealer and CO explain that because we are heads up and I am acting last, he can continue betting. This makes no sense to me. It is impossible for me to act in a way that will let me see a flop. I either fold or keep going until one of us is all in.

So we get to the point that CO is all in, pot is about $40. He shows .

Flop brings me two aces and that's that.

But, what the hell was going on?

What? That sounds wrong.

I've NEVER in a limit game been able to continually raise because we are heads up.

Nice way to bust the guy though!

This depends on the house.

I've heard of unlimited betting in limit before but never have I heard of someone being able to raise after their opponent has called.

Are you sure this was Poker?

If he bet and you said call they allowed him to bet again?
That's clearly wrong. I would have called over floor manager and if they said that was the rule I'd have taken my chips back and left the game.

Usually there is no cap when heads up, but if you call then he obviously can't bet again.

But, he could. I am not mistaken about this.

Alex, you say it depends on the house. So, have you heard of this?

I just re-read this and the dealer fucked up and thought the action was still live. Your opponent probably saw the dealer look or point to him and not deal cards, thinking you re-raised, so he did. You NEED TO, NEED TO, NEED TO call "Floor" anytime something's fishy. The game dies immediately when a player calls "Floor!" and that's the only way things get cleared up.

yeah i agree with al. dealer misunderstood. even if there is unlimited action in HU pots, the action has to stop if somoene calls instead of reraising. good thing you had Ak not like JJ. if you had jj and rr all the way to flop, that would have been a funny post.

If this were the case anytime I had AA I would attempt to put at least one or two people all in preflop.
