Default Explain Spread Limit to me.

The tourneys at the local cardrooms are spread limit, not no limit. From reading about it, it seemed that spread limit meant it was like fixed limit, but you didn't have to bet as much if you didn't want to. Like, if the blinds were 50/100. A few guys call the BB. Flop. One dude bets 100. You can raise, but not more than another 100. You can make it 175, but not more than 200. But someone else I was talking to said spread is a lot like NL. I wasn't getting it.

Anybody have a good explanation for me?

Thanks.

I played a 1/2 spread limit ring game at the west palm kennel club when i was on vacation in FLA last week.

the way they played it was the pf raise could be 1 or 2 dollars, and opening bet after flop could be 1 or 2. once initial bet was made, raises were fixed at increments of the opening bet.

Yeah. You got it right.

I used to play a 3/6/12 spread game where you could bet from $3 to $6 PF and the flop and between $6 and $12 on the turn and river. It was the only lo-limit I'd used to play. It's fun. Very profitable.

So, the person who told me "it's basically no limit" was full of shit.

Sounds more like limit, but you can give people even better odds to draw out on you if you feel like it, but not worse odds than in FL.

Pot limit is techincally a spread limit game, there is a min amount you can bet, and an upper limit, but that changes as the hand progresses.

I think 7 stud should be played as a like a 1-5 (relative to your stakes) SL game.
