Holy shit, the guys at Garden City in the afternoon are bad. So bad. Of course, they hit everything on the river and make all kinds of money. But in theory, they are very bad.

As a general rule, live players are just as bad if not WORSE then internet players. Especially at the lowest limits (like 1/2) they are just average joes who saw it on TV and think they can play like the pro's. It's a HUGE donk fest.

Everything cheaper than 10/20 are your normal micro-3/6 online players who REALLY, REALLY wanna play live because they can't money online and figure that it's because everyone else online are fish. They either discover right away that they're fish or get lucky a couple of times and realize the next couple of times that they're fish.

I've never played a live game 10/20 or less that wasn't juicy. Then you have the people who've played 1/2-5/10 live who think the only reason they're losing is because everyone else is bad, so they buy into the mid-limit games, and swim around for a few months before their markers are at a point where they can't borrow anymore.

It was impossible to get people to fold at the 2/4 game I was in this afternoon. I was UTG+1 on a hand, UTG raises. I have aces. Reraise. Next guy says "For six bucks, I'll play." WTF?

Some old Asian lady calls after him. UTG completes. Flop comes rainbow, with a Q. A straight draw if someone called with something like 45. They can lick my sweaty sac if they did. UTG bets, I raise, they all call. Turn is crap. UTG bets, I raise, both these bitches call $8. River is a T. UTG checks, I bet, they finally fold, except UTG raises and of course hit his two pair Qs and Ts.

Anyway, I'm just screwing around there with a "recreational bankroll". I'm tired of spending a bunch of time online to get raped over and over. I have zro dollars online as of an hour ago. I just wanted to see what it was like. I am going back tomorrow with one of my buddies, then we'll see.

I would like to play tourneys there, but all they have is that spread limit at Garden City and Bay 101. Is there a law about no limit or what?

Off the subject but........

I play in Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana and out of all the casinos only two have poker rooms. The casino I play at only has $1/$2 and $2/$5 NL and $4/$8 Limit. I play the $1/$2 and there are tons of donks on the weekends but during the week it is TIGHT. All the old local rocks play all day and night and if one of them is betting you can be sure he's got the nuts or close to it. If you can get a decent table on a weekend or holiday it can be very profitable. The hands people play and call with are amazing. However, you have to be careful to not go broke on the suckouts. The thing that gets me is that since there are no games higher than $2/$5 NL, they play very wild. A standard pre-flop raise is usually $15-$25 depending on the table. But get this.....up until a month ago the max buy-in was $150. It was basically a one or two hand game until you busted out or doubled up. If you can get a decent table the standard pre-flop raise goes down to about $10-$15 which is better but still 7x the BB.lol

The hands that make me the most money over there are boats because the fish hit trips when the board pairs and they go nuts every time. They think a set with two of their cards on the board is the nuts and they can't wait to put all their money in the pot. The best was when I flopped a boat and the fish flopped a set (the board paired). He shoved all-in for about $150, I called and he flipped his cards over and said "I have 3 of a kind!!!!!" I flipped my cards over and I cambly said, "I flopped a boat." He frowned looking at the board and said "how could you have a boat?" Even the dealer got a chuckle out of that one.
