First off, For tilt and mental approaches to the Game, Zen is the premier work out there. For math and strategy, I wouldn't use it as toilet paper. See the Zen and Luck thread for some examples.
To say that you read Zen, then realized that you were underolled is an insult to everyone here that has ever replied/read your posts. We put some serious effort into making this as correct and educational as possible.
I am glad you have finally seen the light. I am. Just frustrating that we have been preaching that for so long, and you figure it out somewhere else.
Don't take anything personally, I was just venting that frustration. Basically, the guy banging his head on the wall sums it up.....

Either you're not reading what you're typing or you have no idea why people overextend their roll. If the latter, what you say to people in attempts to convince people not to overextend will be bland, impersonal, and ineffective.

First off, I applaud you for your honesty with yourself. I'm always inspired when people and make commitments to get their financial situations in order. We only succeed when we hold ourselves accountable.
Whatever, it takes, man. Whatever it takes. Everyone's reached in different ways. Me, personally, I'm scared to death of overextending. I was staked in my mixed game for a couple of months when I took a lot out of my roll to start a business and I had about 12 buy ins for the game at the time. But, that's me.
Go to this thread. There are a couple of books that I mention here that you should read:
Zen and the art of luck?
I understand your issue, though. It's what kills a ton of good players (TJ Cloutier).
And Marm, most people who play poker don't know what a bankroll is. There's a reason why gambling wrecks the richest of the rich and most talented of the most talented. Gambling is an addiction and when you're high, you only want more. It happens.
When it's your money, it's very dangerous. You don't have to comment on this here, but if you owe anyone money, make that your first priority. If you have $200, be real with yourself and your temptations. Don't move up to $20 SnG's until you're at $750. Then you can play $10NL games when you don't wanna play a tourney and you'll be comfortable and in the game instead of being inside your own fear.
You can never play below your bankroll.

I don't know how it is in "Ridiculous Taxes, but we get Heath Care land," but it's pretty easy to start a business. It wasn't much money, in hindsight. We could've done it with a lot less money, but we didn't want to get into debt in case we need money down the road.
