Good question: I play pretty much the same but give them just a little less credit for having a great hand. But I'm only gonna call if I have something strong.
Example: About two weeks ago I was trying my game out at the NL100 table (a little high for me, but just within my BR). I had played about 20+ hands when I saw a player's KK get busted by a flush draw. The next hand I was dealt QQ in late position. The recently busted player had bought back in and was UTG...he limped. There was a 3XBB raise from middle and I raised it another 9BBs. UTG then pushed his $100 allin and the original raiser folded. Now, I usually fold to a play like this because it's such a classic AA play...but I figured that he could be pushing with any pair or even AK, so I made the call (I put $89 in the pot). DAMN, he had AA!
But the poker gods decided to continue their assault on this poor fellow. I hit my set on the flop and took down my biggest pot ever.
I don't suggest that I made the right move....I was simply lucky.
