Default Kill Games?

Never played in one before but I've seen that UB( only site I've seen it) offers them. I never played one and don't know much about them so bear with me on this thought.

I was considering....(when the time comes) when I want to take a shot at a higher limit playing in them seeing as how I can still stay at the same limit but occasionally have hands played the next level. Is this a logical thought or is there something else I should know about them?

I played kill at the 6/12 game at morogno 2 months ago and some old guy who was the worst player ever ran his stack from 300$ to over 2g's in a few hours. His luck eventually ran out when he hit almost 3g's and he cashed out with 800$ after losing constantly for the next 4 hours.

Boy, Chi3F that was helpfull.

variance is a bitch in Kill games. they play a lot more loose and aggressive.

when you have the kill button, but it is not yet a kill pot (you have to win two hands in a row to trigger a kill pot) you need to play a little tighter becuase if you win the second hand you are forced to put up a double blind (this takes away some of your profit from the hand you just won).

I think the UB kill games would be a gold mine, but I was brutalized too much the times I played them. KK cracked by Q4 suited when I flopped top set in kill pots, crap like that.

Basically it's a game where the blinds double when 1 player wins 2 hands in a row. Ex. playing 1/2 limit HE, you win 2 hands in a row (you get the "kill" button after winning 1, if you win the next hand) the next hand becomes a 2/4 game. You also have to put up a double blind (like Beav mentioned).

So basically Beav it's probably not the best way to "ease" into a higher limit then?

Kill games are good because they stimulate action, but they aren't really a transition to higher limits. I really wish more sites offered kill games, no idea why they don't, the kill games I play live are always more fun than the standard games.

Yeah I'll probably play a few games on there....maybe after KK and QQ become profitable for me on that site instead of 2 of my biggest $ losers.

I have about a dozen thousand hands at the kill games on UB. They suck. But they are profitable if you run well. The .5/1 Kill plays more lilke .10/.20. The variance is wicked. People think the half-kill button is something to defend, and then they think the full-kill is an honor (not the burden that it is) and I doubt they would defend their mother with more enthusiasm.

They are no way indicative of higher play. They are not like .5/1 and a half limit. But they are loose and aggressive and with good player awareness, you can make some money.
