Default Sharing the sitting out guy's blind??

I was just playing some poker online - got 4 handed and there was one guy sitting out. The guy to the left of the guy sitting out told the guy on his right to "stay off his big blind" and to just let him have the sitting out guy's small blind when I folded, and he'd do the same. Said it was "common courtesy". Sounds like rubbish to me, fair enough 3 handed, but 4 handed... bit dubious. As it was I wanted to coast into the money anyway I so I folded most hands (but not all).

I was playing an MTT once, wound up at a 10 person table that had 7 people sitting out. So the three of us just started folding our hands around to 1 person so we could all share everyone's blinds. We had it down to such a good system that we all almost double up before anyone came back. lol.

No way. Not in a tournament, there is no common courtesy when it comes to getting chips. It's about winning and any chips help.

Risk free getting in the money with same stack sizes as right now? ( proportionally ).
Why not?
