after doing all right in a few goofy dorm games, i was transferred $10 by nomanner on stars about two and a half years ago (joined pfo around this time too i think), built that to $20 playing pennies and paid him back, built the $10 i had left to $120 playing pennies and then moved to $5 sngs...did a lot of sngs on stars and built my way up to larger buy-ins...never more than the $33s though. made a bit of money writing reviews for this site that tyler hooked me up with. eventually branched out to cash games (hadn't before cuz i sucked at them). bonch taught me to multitable and deme taught me to bonus whore. pfo in general made me less retarded. current online bankroll is only about $600 because i went to spain this year and took mainly poker money with me, not to mention needing it to buy food and stuff (my job last summer sucked so poker money is a major source of income right now, behind mommy and daddy paying rent and tuition), but i've made about $3000 or so in online poker? i've never had to buy in past that original $10 that i paid back at the very start. i'm proud of that. i currently don't play more than an hour or two per week though; i average $20/hour and was making $43/hour last summer, so i could have a lot more, but i'm busy/lazy.

so yeah, basically pfo taught me whatever i know.

I depo'd $100 on Party and lost it all playing $10 SNG's.
Re-deposited $100, and lost it.
Re-deposited $100, got down to $75 when I figured it had to be the site so I moved to Stars.

Transferred $75 to Stars, and quickly ran it up to $340 playing $5 SNG's.

Then I was transfered into city and found myslef only able to play for about 50 mins twice a day as I commute to work. Can no longer wait until wife and kids go to bed to play an SNG (which I used to do), have to get to bed to early. This led me to start playing ring.

Within the 1st two weeks of playing NL ring, I lost most of my bankroll. I think it was just a bad run of cards, but I decided I did not want to play NL ring, so I went down to .10/.20 limit and decided to rebuild bankroll. I am back around $300 playing .25/.50 (spent 55 on PT) and feel like I am on my way to a larger roll as I grind my way through the limits. Once I clear a bonus I had left behind on prima I am going to start whoring (under the guidance of my new "whore mentor" pok 7's.

Deposited $40 on Pokerstars a week ago after playing play money for a year or so earning myself about 12million.

Took part in a $1 .1 SNG, finished 8th out of 45.

Took part in a $4 .40 180 man SNG, won.

BR now $250 and at this rate, I should be broke in a month..

Actually, I closed the account because they tried to charge me a fee for maintaining a zero balance with no account activity.

I will try to go there under a new account through PSO I guess. Is there something else I can do?

I have about $300/month in whatever money (clothes, toys, etc.) and about a year ago I opened a Neteller account and made my first deposit into Party.

Naturally, it took a while before I had a clue what I was doing, so I repeated this process a number of times. (Usually when there was a reload bonus!)

First deposit: $300
Next month: $300
Skip a month, then deposit again.
Skip two months, then deposit again.
Skip three months, then deposit again.
Skip four months.... and still haven't deposited.

My goal (short/medium term) is to get my roll large enough that I can take the $1500 back out and just play with the proceeds. Currently it stands at about $1200.

I started after getting stitched by my mates at a pool tourney playing holdem in a caravan about 18months ago, it was then I vowed to beat them and get my money back with interest. So started reading.

I am very careful with my money (ok I'm tight) and at first just played a ladbrokes freeroll, came 30th out of over 3000 players, got about $10 for my effort. Lost that so loaded about $400 over the next 3-4 months.

I then hit a 3rd netting $630 ish and a 1st getting $750 ish.

I banked out a $1000, currently bank roll sitting at $207 and ladbrokes out of favour.

I now just play Pacific (with a $25 + match for starters, and I'm still playing with this) for the simple reason it offers the type of games that allows me to manage my bank roll easily.

I am solely playing sng's (5,10,20 and 40man) possibly a couple of levels below my max. I bank a little from my wins but enter bigger tourneys from the rest. Hence over the last 8 weeks I have increased my bank roll by only a measly $80 but have staked over $600 in tourneys, unluckily without the big win ... but its not costing me anything.

I have always played every sport to win and this is no different. I am patient enough to do my time at the lower limits and am now definitely winning at these limits. My struggle is when do I leap to the next levels to see if I can do the same.

The rematch with my pool mates is pending.

Default Building your Bankroll

Great strategies here on building your bankroll. I've learn to never take more than 20% of my bankroll to a table and to get on a waiting list at a table I'm interested in playing to watch whether 70% or more of the players are seeing flops. I usually leave when my stack is 2.5 times what I started with.
