I deposited $50 lost it. Deposited another $50 and got lucky with SnG and MTTs way above my roll and skill to get to well over $1000. I can't describe how lucky I was. Craziness.

Then variance did it's thing but the roll I had allowed me to learn while I lost most of it and did some reading.

Fortunately I got better before losing it all and have made an OK profit at SnGs since and a very healthy income from MTTs which has allowed me to cash out around $14000 and keep a decent roll.

I have 2 BR's now, one online and one for live games.. My online BR is now about $400 and slowly increasing. I've been REALLY playing with my game and playing alot of different limits and different games. I'll build my BR up to $200-$300 on one site, and move up from .10/.25NLHE to $2/$4LE and mess around, catch a frozen wave of cards and go back down or break even. Every time I move up in limits I get good hands cracked and get crippled. I know it's wrong to do, but playing LL with a bunch of donks is FRUSTRATING so I move up to higher limits for a session or 2 and the variance kicks in and I have to move back down. It's just a timing thing because I know I can be profitable at those higher limits. I know playing $2/$4 is way over my online BR but I can replenish it and it's good practice. I have only played online for 5 months and it is still taking some getting used to. Basically I break even or lose a little online now for practice because it has made me a MUCH, MUCH better player live.

My BR for playing live is around $4k now from home games and casino play. I got banned from my own home game because I won the winner takes all NLHE $20 buy-in tourney like 9 weeks in a row and now nobody will play if I play so I just deal. I've been on a tear at the B&M tables and am up about $3200 for the year. I'm just going to keep grinding it out at the $2/$5LHE tables building my BR until I feel comfortable playing $2/$10 or $10/$20. I know I can beat the regulars at the $10/$20 game because I wax their A$$ in the tourneys and at $2/$5LHE when they play the only difference is they play the same as the donks at micro limit on 'Stars but with huge BR's. They are all old grey hairs that have unlimited $$$ and I have a family, house payments, car payments and bills to pay. When I have the BR to play $10/$20 every week I will and it's a game I know I can beat regularly and I would feel MUCH more comfortable playing $10/$20 limit than $2/$5NL....

I need to start focusing more on SnG's and MTT's but when my wife works nights and I have to watch the kids, it makes concentrating on a tourney near impossible and I am much better at tourneys than cash games. Last night I had some time for the first time in like 3 weeks to play some SnG's after the kiddies were in bed and I won 2 $5 10 persons and 4th in a $5 45 man. I have cashed twice in the Sunday million on stars for $700 and have a mint in $W on 'stars from the WSOP satellites.... I just need some more time......... And then all the PFO's had to get on bonus whoring... Now THAT's a whole new ballgame!!!!

I started by making small deposits ($20-$50.) I would play around with it for it a bit, build it up some and then lose it all. Make another small deposit and repeat. Twice I turned a small deposit into around $600 but then would do something stupid like decide to play a couple $50 SnGs or think I could kill everyone in the $1 tables and eventually would wind up losing everything.

But now things are going better......sort of. I deposited $50 into PS 2 months ago and have since turned it into about $2400 (although I think I'm withdrawing $1500.) That being said, the last couple of days have been killing me. Can someone please tell me that THIS is just variance........

started about 3 years ago with $50 into a party poker account. lost it. deposited another $650 in $50-$100 increments. lost a lot at the $5+1 suck out tables and .25/.50 nl for a long time befor i moved up to the $10+1 sng tables. learned a lot there and started to make some of my money back.
dabbled in some mtt's and got lucky and won a grand by taking a 2nd place. about a month later won another $800 taking 2nd place again.
i got a big head...took my original investment out and started playing $30+3 sng's. was winning for a while then the bottom dropped out. cards got cold, i got frustrated, bankroll vanished.
reinvested- another $500 in $100 increments. i also started lurking this forum and learning bankroll managment, how others play, and how to tighten up my game. went back to the $10+1 and to the small money mtt's.
i've done well building my bankroll playing mtt's. about one final table every other month. sng are up and down for me. i'm usually up $30 then lose $20 so by weeks end i'm up $10. overall, probably up $4000 in three years, spent $2500.
right now, i'm trying to bonus whore by multitableing at anothersite playing .5/1 nl ring. so i'm still working ~$1500 after 3 years.

I deposited $55 on Stars in Aug. of last year and played 5.50 SNG's played maybe 20-30 Sngs for about a month got down to $5 dposited another $50 and got down to about $30. Decided to learn more about the game and found this place.

Played .01/.02 NL ring till I got up to about $120 then switched to LHE working from .05/.10 to .10/.20, .25/.50 till I got to $300. Which was around March of this year. Started whoring and moved to .5/1 LHE, up to about $1500 right now (with a few more bonuses I'll be completing shortly), I'll be taking a few 100 out soon to partly pay for my new PC.

Sold some of my PS play money for 150$, treated it like a free-roll and switched over to real about 10 months ago. Played mainly SnGs, since I figured the ring games were obviously rigged.

Stars came out with a bonus, I cleared that at ring and booyah free money. Started whoring and winning only playing about an hour a day, bought a new computer, couple of monitors, a ring for my girlfriend, a new set of golf clubs and keep about a 6k BR.

I recently started helping a friend out getting started, through playing a bit at lunch we started her with the instant bankroll through party and have her up to over 400 through whoring and playing properly rolled. I will summarize how we do it and post about it on PFO from time to time, figure she'll be over 2k by X-mas.

Began playing maybe 11 months ago. I probably spent about $300 over 2 months playing $25 NL on Party Poker.

I then became winning player and deposited $200 into Eurobet to play $25 NL and clear $200 bonus (underrolled anybody ). I withdrew my $200 at end of month and have never redeposited since.

Currently have a $4k BR and would be soooo much higher if I didnt have to keep wasting it on silly things like rent money and kids food.

I built mine with a scratch-&-win from the 7-11. Of course, I lost it quickly afterwards. Still, nice to BR with found cash. =)

15$-20$ left, so i grinded .01-.02nl. got it up to about 60$ and started playing nl10 again. got that up to about 150-200$ started playing 25nl.

played a 5+50 tourny and won it. now my BR was about 600$. sent my friend 10$

he sucks @ cash so he played .01-.02, donked it down to 1.50$, baught into a 1$+.10 MTT, came in 3rd for about 180$. switched to 5+.5 SNGS

Meanwhile im still playing 25nl. I work my BR up to 1,000. He is killing SNGs and goes from 5 to 10 to 20s. he also has a 1k BR now. He final tables a 30+3 and now has 1.6k

I keep grinding 25nl, and dabbling in 50nl. my BR is about 1.2k. he reaches about 2.3k and withdraws everything. I play 50nl 6 max for full time for a few weeks and my br reaches 1.6k. I then realize nl 50 gives me too much stress, and play nl 25.

Im a 2.3k, and i send my buddy 200$ to begin his new BR. hes @ about 500 right now. I also send my bro and his bro 2-5$, and those two work it up to 100.

so, my "crew" if you will, has made about 5k from a 30$ depo. shleepy is his name. if you see him @ UB sng watch out.
