Default Dealer Salaries

It seems hard to find much substantial information regarding this topic online.

If anyone could direct me to a good source of reliable information I would greatly appreciate it. I have attained at this time an associates degree and am working towards a bachelors. I however, do not find myself satisfied with any area of my study and have only found any true hope of satisfaction in the realms of the cardroom. I am looking into future careers in the casino industry and am looking into dealing as a stepping stone into the industry.

I am from the northeast and looking to relocate. I am looking for any information regarding dealers average annual income. I am trying to decide if this would be a feasable route to continue my education while persuing a career in which I can network and build potential opportunities to advance.

Base salaries are easy to find online, I'm looking for information from at best would be accomplished dealers who have experience and can offer a better rundown of entry into the job and the paths/later opportunities it may provide.

Thanks for any help. Information specific to the Atlantic City area would be most appreciated as it is likely I may be moving down to Jersey and this would be a feasible location to work should I happen to do so.

Thanks again.

-Ryan

I've searched through google, the only thing is the range of information yeilds is almost useless. I've read articles regarding casinos reporting dealer salaries as averaging 70 - 80K annually, while other sites who provide only base pay like salary.com report data like 17K, and sites based on reports from actual dealers reporting annual salaries contain too few reports to grasp a true feel for an average salary (which on this site was reported at being ~40K). I am sure there is great variance between location, thats why I'm hoping I might find someone with first hand knowledge, especially anyone from the Atlantic City area. Thanks again.

Here in montreal it's 15$ per hours + the best part, tips!!!!!

A dealer I know got 3K from a high roller after a few hours BJ session. The bad news is that in Montreal you have to share the tips with all other dealers!

Check the IRS website - they may have breakdowns on reported income by profession. Of course since most of what the dealers make are probably tips, anything there would be low.

I have no first hand knowledge, but a recent thread in 2+2 mentioned a figure of $25-30/hour for a dealer in ac.

BJ sessions?!?! Good god what do they expect from these dealers? J/K

Anyway I have always been interested in this myself... $15 an hour plus tips actually sounds good to me.
