Default Help me decide...

Well I finally broke down and ordered a new PC so I'll be able to actually run PT on the machine I'm playing on, as well as HUD, 2 monitors...the works (supposed to ship by the end of the week). Anyway, I've also recently found the joy of bonus whoring, the problem currently is as I continue to move form site to site... it's becoming more of a hassle to get my hand histories from the machine I play on that dosen't have PT to my work PC which has PT installed on it (long story don't ask ). For me Stars is the easiest to move HH from one to the other.

Now when my new PC gets here I'll also need to figure out how to move my entire DB from my work PC to my new one ASAP.

So for anyone who might care what would you suggest as far as options.

#1. Just lay low for a week or 2 and play some small games on Stars till I get the new set up running.

#2. Keep whoring and also try to figure out how to move HH from one machine to the other with different sites, although it may be a pain in the ass trying to keep my PT DB current.

#3. Hit a few quick bonuses and don't worry about the few 100 or 1000 or so hands I might miss going into my DB. (although for some reason I hate knowing there's hands I've played that I don't have in my PT )

Yeah, yeah, I know not a world changing event here but I figured I ask

Why not collect the hand histories, but not import them into the database until you get your new machine?

I was thinking I'd still need to probably find the HH from my home machine and email them to myself in order to transfer them to the new machine wouldn't I? It seems like with alot of the sites, it would be alot easier having PT running and auto-importing everything while I'm playing as opposed to trying to find the file they're saved in.

Which I also wanted to ask come to think of it, the 2 bonuses I was looking at were Golden Rivera and River Belle. Both of them are Prima skins, now I played on PokerRewards which is also a Prima, will any of the hands I play on those sites also be stored in the same .dat file that is already on my PC from when I played PokerRewards?

Well, you have to know where they're stored in order to tell PT where to go get them anyway, don't you?

Any way, I was thinking you could save them on your PC and burn them to a CD when you get your new box, or network the two long enough to copy them over.

Or if you don't think you'll do more than 100 hands in the mean time, you could install a trial version of PT on the PC you play on, store the hands there, and then export them when you get your new PC.

Well, you have a point there...seeing as how I know how to find the files for Prima skins I guess it won't be that bad to do.

Moving A dbase is easy as pie... I used to have a little script that compied all 4-5 of my dbases from one machince to the other, took a few minutes over the Wireless network due to the size of the files, but you should be able to fit everything onto one CDROM from the work machine Pok.

Just copy (found under C:\program Files\Pokertrackerv2) PTRACK.MDB and HHDB.MDB to a CDR and just dump them into the new machine. If you haven't added new hands to the new PT, just replace the files with your backups. Viola, PT should recognized and have full access to those dbases.

Errrrr..... maybe... you can zip the hell out of it and hope it fits under the 20mb or whatever limit you have.... you can also zip and have it span multiple files so each file would be under your limit...

Best case scenario, You find your cool inhouse IT guy and ask him to do it..... jsut tell him you want to get those files onto your home computer, whatever way he can.... betcha he can find a burner with networlk access to burn it for you....

I added a hard drive to the work computer that only has PT on it. Do you think I can take the HD plug it into another computer that has a burner and just burn it on another machine?
