Default Dan

Nothing is worse than sitting at the final table with Dan Peguine. While I have tons of poker experience both in ring games and at tournaments, something in me freezes up when I’m deep into a heads up hand with him. Maybe it’s the glare. He just seems so intense and focused. Nothing fazes him. No hat, no glasses and yet he gives nothing away. I would love to have his patience; he sits there for hours and barely moves a muscle. The guy has absolutely no tells and he can always make a close read on any player. I’ve seen him throw away quad tens on the turn. Who throws away quad tens? Yes, it was the right call. But how many people have the self control to throw away a hand like that. The guy he folded to went absolutely nuts. He had quad Queens. Any other person would have paid him off. Not Dan Peguine though, he’s just too good.

probably every pokerplayer with a bit of skill would have folded it. I'm guessing the flop was TTQ. This Dan has quads T's and bets a lot. This other guy hit a full house and puts dan on 1 T and calls. Dan knows that the only way he would call him is when he has 2 q's. The other Q come so it's obvious he hit quads.

right?

Chuck Norris regularly lays down quad tens preflop.

Folding TT to a board of TTQQ is most definitely EV- in the long term.

I folded a royal flush once. I thought I was ahead the whole way but the river turned out to be a major scare card. It was a tough laydown, but I knew my opponent had me.
