Hello all
Just thought I would start this thread to get a discussion going on grinders that have most influenced the game and why you think they are worthy of note.
My first choice would be Wizard of Ahhs on p stars pro team.
Reason being despite suffering from Lymes disease he is a regular winning grinder at 10/20- 50/100 despite the more difficult poker atmosphere and having an enormous amount of exposure (he has nowhere to hide his game). He is still beating the game considerably 200k for 500k hands I believe despite being ill and has maintained a strong and thorough work ethic.
IMO the adaptability and study of opponents has enabled him to do something that is impressive namely be a high stake reg over a number of years.

Dusty Schmidt is the first guy to really play for bonuses and rakeback. and considering he never had a losing month, is one of the most sought after coaches, and authored two books and counting, he has to be up there. Not to mention I've interviewed Dusty a few times and he's a really good guy.

Saw Dusty 'Leatherass' in the Drawing Dead small documentary I really liked that documentary. Be cool to have a Dusty interview on here as he seems from what you see of his videos and to be a really down to earth but very good at grinding guy. I remember on some programme him talking about how much tougher online poker had become and how he could only have 6 figure years now instead of the old 7 figure ones.
I laughed at the time but when you are used to the 7 figure ones that is a fair chunk of change but it goes to show he perservered and still makes decent rate int today's climate

Hang on I seem to remember a post about him when I first joined and he was destroying a big tournament then with loads of people putting in go go go, I believe it was a post of his rail as the tournament was played.

Yeah, he won the Sunday Million on PokerStars. He wrote a lot of strategy posts in the 2008-2010 time period. A little outdated now and probably looks somewhat common knowledge, but at the time it was very cutting edge and still good reads.
Some other excellent players on PFO include WotaWaster and SqueezyPlayerRead my musings on poker and life at PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

I just found the list of his posts and looks like there are some good ones he posted ALOT. I think looking over one of his 50nl ones that he may well of advised WT to get more value in that QQ hand we were talking about. Also thanks for those interview post Steve they make good reading and sure that all members on here should have a look through. At the mo my favourite ones have been the one with Real deal Dusty and Johnathon Little.
Okay I'm just guessing here but J Littles training site sounds like an absolute bargain at 8 dollars a month. I may sign up and yes I guess its time to get a copy of HEM lol

I know Jonathan and he is a really hard-worker and doesn't half-ass things, so you'll be getting good content from his site. And at $8/month you're not risking much.
