Hello everyone,
I'm am new to pokerforums.org and would like to introduce myself. My name is Ian, I am 19 years old and have been playing poker on and off for almost 2 years.
I have recently decided to take the game much, much more seriously in preparation for playing on real-money tables and tournaments. I have started to study strategy and I have a question regarding pot odds calculations. I want to be sure I properly understand how to calculate them. It is my understanding that pot odds are calculated by dividing the amount in the pot by how much I have to call. So, if there is 60 in the pot and I need to call a bet of 10 my pot odds are 60/10 = 6:1 is my understanding correct? Also, should I factor pot odds when assembling a raise?
