Been playing online for 6 months or so.
But lately, I get knocked out of every tourney by a bad beat. I'm not talking about 60/40, but over and over I can have 85-90% chance of winning when I go all in (or call an all in).
I'm not someone that thinks online poker is 'rigged' or anything, but this sh|t is getting strange.
Anyone else have ridiculously long bad luck streaks?
I usually just play $4/12 SnG on PS. I won a couple $12 SnGs a couple weeks back, but since then nothing.

So I suppose I should be expecting a nice long lucky streak coming up =).
I would like to think things average out, and I'll catch some cards on the river once in a while, but that just doesn't happen, at least as often as people catch cards against me.

As a better player though, you will generally have your money in with the best of it. So the appearance of being outdrawn allthe time will be higher, since you don't have to be lucky to win.
Add the fact that if you win when you're ahead won't nearly be as memorable as when you lose as a big favourite.
It's how I console myself anyhow.

If there was no luck involved in poker, I'd win every tournament.

Yeah I think thats a big part of it. When you win a big pot that you should win, you quickly forget about it as it was expected anyways.
I'm starting to think winning tournaments is all about avoiding a bad beat for the entire time. Seems there is at least one every tourney for me unfortunately. If it doesn't knock me out, it usually cripples my chip stack.

I just started on pokerstars this month and must admit I would do good to great on tournaments, came 2nd at least 3 times in small sit and gos but lately (the last week or so) I have been nothing but a loser.. I feel its variance also and that it will all come back, however I would have to say my ultimate pet peeve has to be the bad beat when I know before the river I am a clear winner!

This is wrong.
You have to go in a tournament expecting to get bad beats and coolers. You just have to hope they're mostly against shortstacks.
A definition of a bad beat is losing the hand when you're a favorite to win. The definition of a good poker play is someone who gets his money in as a favorite most of the time. Just keep doing what you're doing.
