Hi All,
Im new here, but i'm looking for some advice how to tackle this issue.
I used to play PartyPoker for around a year, but closed my account and requested all information be removed in December 2010. However, yesterday I received 7 emails informed me that my card had been debited to the value of £150 in total for an account which has been closed for 10~ months.
I phoned up PartyPoker and spoke to their customer services agent, however they said that the account was re-opened yesterday...and because the person in question quoted my name and email address they believe it was me and wouldnt take further action?!?!
I demanded to speak to a supervisor or manager, but conventiently none was available. The guy told me the IP address of the computer used to re-open and play on this account, which WAS DIFFERENT TO MINE. But that was 'irrelevant' because my email address was quoted and that is 'fundemental proof of identity'. The customer service rep refused to do anything, or give me any further information, insisting that I just send an email to clear it up. He also stated that the deposits were made on the card STORED on my account before it was closed?! When I asked why my financial information hadnt been removed as I originally requested back in Dec 10' he replied that they are required to store credit/debit card information for varying reasons.
Has anybody had this occur before, I've never been a victim of fraud in the past and am very unsure as to how to tackle this.
Can anybody offer any advice?
Thanks in advance
Ross

Wow, ridiculous. Never had it happen before, but it's not uncommon with poker processors to be firm with giving out money, regardless of fault. It's not right..

I would call your bank and have them reverse the charge. Claim it as fraud, since that's what it seems like.
