So I decided to start saving up in order to take an extended trip in nine months around April 2012. I have a lot of ideas about it now, but the rough gist of my vision is to travel across the country to several different cities to play poker for a few days in each of them, and ideally the trip would be long, roughly 3 to 4 weeks, or even more.
I know this will cost a lot of money, potentially a shitton of money if I play poorly too, but this is something that I think would be the experience of a lifetime, and is also something I can only reasonably do when I'm young (I am currently 21).
I just graduated college in May and work two jobs now, in addition to playing poker, and one of them, although lucrative, I do not see myself in by April. It's good money for the time being, but it's just not me. The other, a part time stats job at ESPN, is a project gig and ends in April and starts up again in August 2012, so my trip will be perfect timing.
What I am asking the good people at PokerForums.Org is... do you have any suggestions? Where should my stops be? Where should I stay? Where should I play? What are the fishiest casinos youve been too? What are the cheapest places you've stayed at/eaten at in the big cities? Recommend anything, I'm all ears.
I was thinking the basics, Vegas, Atlantic City etc, but I am open to all suggestions. I'm gonna be visting my buddy who lives in Vegas this October, so I'll get a little preview of there before I go.
