    Default question about casino poker

I have a question about a poker machine in the casino's. I know the answer to it, because it happened to me, but I had to ask the gentleman sitting next to me what to do.
    here is what happened:
I was playing a 100 play dollar poker machine when I had the $100 in the machine and when i pushed DEAL, it dealt me a hand of 4 aces and a 2. I was not sure what to do, I was going to throw the 2 away, in hopes of getting a king or at least a face card , cause i was used to playing kitchen penny ante poker, and your kicker should be a high card. There was a guy sitting right next to me and i asked him if i should throw the 2 away, he glanced over at my machine, and said definitely not, to keep the 2.
as soon as I pushed DRAW, (after holding all the cards) I had 100 hands of 4 aces with a 2 kicker. naturally it said CALL ATTENDANT, which I got up to do, the guy next to me said he thought it would be about 7 thousand winnings. I was looking for an attendant when he told me to come back and look at the machine and see how much I had won,...it was flashing $50,000. I almost fainted.
This happened a year or so ago, but it has been bugging me ever since, because I play Texas Hold Em online and when a person say has 3 of a kind, or any hand when you use all 5 cards, the higher the kicker, is the one who wins.
My question is, why is it different on a poker machine in a casino?
The only reason I asked the guy next to me about throwing the 2 away, is because i vaguely remembered my son telling me the lower the kicker the better.
but again, why would the poker machines be different than playing normal poker?
I gave the guy $500 for telling me to keep the 2, because if I had of thrown it away, and got say a king or ?? it would have been only about $2500 winnings.
thank you for any answers you may give me.

WOW, I don't know about the whole 2 thing, but it sounds like 5-card draw, not texas hold 'em. I dunno about the 2 though...

Oh yes it was 5 card draw poker i was playing on the machine, but even in 5 card draw when you play regular poker, by that i mean not on a machine, isn't the kicker better to be a high card?
come on people let me know what you think, or if you know why it is different on a casino machine?? please

Probably better just to keep them all and not risk a mistake.
