Default I hate myself right now

    Hey all,
I had to talk about this “bad beat” for lack of a better term. I was playing This Morning in a Freeroll on Cake. I was playing real, solid ABC poker and then, my brain froze and I melted. I self-destructed in 15 seconds. Here is the hand history from the hand. I had fun with the highlight feature of MS Word. I don't think it's gonna show-up though. I'm Phoenix7 in the hand history.

    Key:
    Red: My chips
    Yellow: The cards
    Turquoise: My betting
    Dark Orange: The Showdown.

So I raised from the BB with JsTs. I showed the intuitive. The flop comes down, but I didn’t note the 8 till the turn. Suddenly I see I have a two way Flush draw! I start calculating Card odds and Pot odds. The total pot was 930, bet 300 easy math. I rounded-up to 900+300 = 1200/300 = 4:1 (actual odds 4.1:1) so 4:1 is 20%. Card odds 16%.
Thus: Pot odds of 20% is > Card odds of 16%. I SHOULD HAVE CALLED!!!

I let it go because the clock was buzzing and I got flustered. Should have hit time!

This sucks. Don’t let it happen to you. Stay cool and don’t get flustered!

I would have won, BIG, but I let the clock make me nervous.

Thats not a bad beat lol you just didn't wanna take the gamble I would have called there. Also you didn't have a flush draw....just open ended and two over cards. 14 outs, for 4:1 pot odds?

    I misspoke. I let the beeper bully me into a fold. 4 cards for a Q or 4 for a 7. 8x2=16%

    You ALSO had over cards, those are outs as well Q = 4 outs, 7 = 4 outs, J = 3 outs, and 10 = 3 outs. 14 total outs.

    14/46 = 30%

I'll keep that in mind What about the 3, 5, 8 & 9? They pair the board and may help the opponents hand, correct?

Outs help you, it doesn't matter what helps them, they worry about that lol. You need to put your opponent on a hand for you to make a correct decision. What did you put your opponents on? But what you should worry about is if you improve, does it give your opponent a better hand than you?

You wouldn't happen to know on average how long a freeroll would take with say some 350 players?
