So im in my live game (huge prize pool)
As i play a live poker league where the season takes 13 weeks
each week
£5 buy in, prize pool £100 - £70 1st/ £30 2nd
so thats 20 players, we usualy have 40 players, so the extra £100 per week goes into a side pot for end of season..
Well you get points for the position you finish each week.
my 1st season i came 2nd by 10 points
2nd season (just been) i came 1st by 30 points...

the top 10 points players advance through to the end of season game where all the side pot is for play. (I WON THE LAST ONE FOR £210 HEHE)
well this time it was a lot bigger than last time..

Well were down to 5 people just past the bubble and thers this old guy called steve and hes a propper nit.. only plays MONSTERS ( and i mean, hes like a bot lol)
Well this is what everyone thinks, i know better and i know that he uses his rep to win pots he has no right being in..
so ive lost a few coin flips. i had A9, he had A8 for 6K chips a few times like this...
we started with 10K chips, were 4 hours into the game..

im UTG with KK and 16K chips
steve on BB to my right has 29K chips...
I raise to 6K with blinds at 1K/2K
all folds round to steve who is mesing around counting all his 100 chips instead of just putting out 6K in 1K chips...
so he calls and flop comes 10h 6s 4d, im thinking cool double up. so he bets 2K min bet. i think hmm odd does he have trips. so i shipped it with only 10K left. he instant calls with QJo ???? donkey call IMO...
and the next card comes K im thinking cool double up, oh wait fuck he has up n downer, next card A
im fucked over with him hitting runner runner straight on me, from a donk call pre flop and a donk call post flop...

I go mental at him, saying ive shown you so much respect, and you go on about how you play in london all the time owning the players their.. and you make a donkey move and call like that...

if i had won, i would of been set to take down that sng 1st/2nd with a large amount of cash in my pocket, instead i left with £25 with a temper and ready to start some arguements on tuesday with him lol

Special you remind me of Phil Hellmuth. Just know not everone understands the game and/or the odds of the game. It is still gambling to a lot of "poker players". Sucks you took the bad beat, but don't give them the satisfaction of knowing they ruined your day too. Bad beats are going to happen everywhere you play. I remember watching Hellmuth blow up on a player in the WSOPME for calling a reraise all in with KJ against Hellmuth's AK. He really let the guy have it, yeah it's funny, but the guy was loving the fact that he tilted Hellmuth and ruined his day.

Having said all that, I have no clue what Steve the Donkey was thinking calling the all in after the flop. I probably would have folded preflop aswell since you raised from UTG, but he did have the chips to see a flop there. In all honesty though, you can't say that you didn't want him to call with QJ on a flop like that, should of made for a sweet double up. Then he hits runner runner in pure retard fashion. Bad luck man.
