Ok, so I am mainly sticking to Sit n Go's, as I fluctuate too much in ring games, and tournaments are just too much a longshot to really generate a profit unless you are REALLY good. As of right now, I am playing 2.00 Sit n Go's at Full Tilt. The total buy in is 2.25, so I am almost done with my first run of 50, for a total of 112.50 buy in (deposited 100.00, and lost the 40.00 profit I made playing damn Rush Poker, so I am back down to my initial deposit, lol). As of this post, I have played 52 games, have a total profit of 17.00, and an ROI of 19%, (some were 1.00 buy-ins before I started).
My question is, at what point do I move up to 5.00 + .50 buy in Sit n Go's? How many games should I have under my belt, and what should my ROI be? I know 19% is good, technically 1% is good, it's a profit, but is it the number I want to be at to move up in stakes?
My plan now is to do two more 50 game runs once this is finished, for a total of 150 games at 2.25 buy in. Provided I have a profit, I will add the rest I need to make the 275.00 bankroll. What is the ROI I should be at before moving up? Is this enough games at this level? Too much? I really need some input here, (Marm, lol), so any advice from the more experienced guys would be appreciated.

Sit n Go bankroll and moving up in stakes question

I am also a SNG player. This is what I like to do on every site I play on. I start at the $2-$3 level until I hit a $100 BR. Then I move up to $6.50 SNGs. I like this level, as I have found I win on a consistent basis here. I like to have 2 accounts on each site I play on. 1 for play and the other stricky used as a "bank account". It's against the rules to have 2 accounts in your name so I would recommend putting 1 of them in someone else's name if you do this. I use my GF's name. I like to keep $150 bucks on my playing account. When I get that up to $300, I transfer $150 into my "bank account". I do this consistently and watch my "bank account" fill with profits! Then when I am ready to cashout, I have a nice ammount. This also helps with fees as you will be about to cashout larger amounts at a time.
As for the ROI, you have only played 52 games at that level, so I think it will most likely go down. Check back when you have played about 200 games. If it's still around 6%-9% at that level, you are doing well. I have a ROI around 15% at the $6.50 as I avg about $1 a game. I have yet to move up to the $12 level full time, but I've played a few games at that level. I am looking forward to moving up there in due time. I'm also about to start hardcore multi-tableing as soon as I get my new computer
Hope this helps!Last edited by Ipokergood; 02-19-2011 at 10:13 AM.

The moving up-and-down at stakes should be more about your bankroll , ROI is not that important especially if it's short term . I'd say anything around 10% is more than great on the long run , 5% on the nosebleed stakes . If you like taking shots but have good discipline to move down once required play with the 50BI rule , 75-100BI if you prefer a more conservative approach .

Ok guys, thanks for the advice. Also, another question here.
How does this sound?
I am going to play REALLY tight early/mid game, so will be playing only these starting hands AGGRESIVELY.
Pairs: AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT
Suited: AK, AQ, AJ, AT, KQ, KJ, QJ
Offsuit: AK, AQ, AJ, KQ
I will use judgement and position to CALL with the following hands:
Pairs: 99, 88, 77
Suited: KT, QT, T9
Offsuit: KJ
I just came up with this. Any thoughts? Keep in mind, I will ONLY be using this early to mid game, I will loosen up a bit with 5 left in the 9-man games I play.

Also, another question. Can someone point me to a good site with some really good Sit n Go strategy that maybe they used to help improve thier game? I have read alot through google search, but most are pretty basic. Any help here would also be appreciated.

Early game should be tight but it's also about position . I will fold AJo UTG but raise Ax from button or cutoff , it depends on the players I'm against . If you want to make a chart on playable hands you'll need one for each position (Early/Middle,Late,BvB) . Also if the price is right it's always profitable to set-mine with any pair , will call 3bb in a multiway pot w any pair or sometimes suited connectors .
As for improving your game - CardRunners , SNG Grinders , PokerStrategy for videos/articles . Study ICM (ICM Trainer , SNG Wiz) , review your games , would be useful to learn (have a sense at least) the nash ranges as that's what you need to shove/call without reads , read hand evaluation and user strategy threads . B2BAces, I am fairly new, only been "studying" poker for about 5 months now. If you have position charts, would you mind sharing them with me? I can give you my email if you would like. Thanks though for the advice.
