    Default Advice for bankroll management

First post here. Gotta love Google search in regards to finding things. So I got some free money and although it isn't a lot, I figure that it's something manageable where I can build it up and possibly make a decent profit from it. As you can tell, I'd be mainly a recreational player who is hoping to make some sort of profit from this and would be mainly playing on weekends.

At the time of this post, I have exactly $5.90 on PokerStars. I was wondering what would be the proper bankroll management (brm) for this. I've tried thinking along the lines of playing only games that are 1/15 or 1/20 of my bankroll. I could play in $0.25 MTTs except PS only has one and it ends at 4AM local time...I won't be able to be effective to make a deep run at that time. I tried playing $0.10 but somehow I keep getting caught with chasers and getting rivered often even with proper betting.

So with that being said, I was attempting to do the $1.10 turbo Double or Nothing SNGs until I build up to $20ish and then either graduate to $1.10 MTTs. I was also thinking of getting my bankroll up to possibly $11ish and then play the $0.55 MTTs but I'm just not sure. Wondering what kind of strategy I should have when tackling this. I know I can be successful in the Double or Nothing SNGs to build up my bankroll if I'm patient and don't play stupid. Just curious on what would be the proper strategy.

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to say what kind of game I play. I am strictly a NL Holdem player but can play PL slightly.

Also, how many of you use the poker tracker? My friend is using the 60 day free trial but I'd prefer a tracker that's free and decent. Any suggestions?

Thanks for reading and I look to hear from ya!

Err wut? IS that .05/.10 NL Limit badugi what? Even limit that's too high.

Anyways. There are some articles in the Newbie FAQ in the newbie forum that may answer some of your questions.

But basically, you need to play within your BR. Know the limits you can safely play, and stick to them. Yeah, it's boring, but you need to be able to absorb some losses.

For limit, you should have around 300 bets in your bank, and about 1,000 bets (NL players correct me if I'm wrong here), but that depends on your buy-in amount. So with $6, you should be playing the .01/.02 Limit, if you can find it.

Playing SNG's and MTT's are fine too, I think the number is about 50 buy-ins for each. But with such a limited BR, just play the smallest you can. I know there are .10 MTT's and .50 SNG's (IIRC) on stars.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.
