ok, played all day yesterday, super solid, by the book, plus my own additons 100 plo heads up... was up 6 buy ins on carbon, should have just left, he grinded back til we had about even stacks, i flop the nuts, he, top set, OBV the river pairs the board, this happened to me in four pots yesterday that were 400 plus dollar pots, i went busto on there cause i just wanted revenge, and i know better than to play "catch up poker" but i just could not stop cause the dude was a donk, just catching lucky... if only i would have had another 50 buy ins to play him, he wants to rematch me tonight, but i do not feel like depositing a bunch of money, just to lose it, i tested the waters from playing the money i got from rakeback and AGAIN, flopped the nut flush and the river paired for a FH after all the money was in on the turn, so these idiots are drawing to FH on THE TURN.... i know long term my edge is huge, but i just cannot take the swings, when i play lhe and limit razz and mixed, or limit o8, i seem to steadily climb, and climb fast, then i go to heads up plo cause i see some fish sitting and BOOM, BUSTO!!!! what should i do, quit plo, quit hu plo, or what? i really need advice... i have been crushing limit games since ub had super soft 10/20 YEARS AGO.... i think i should just stick to that huh? and FYI this is not a bad beat story, but i am mentally breaking down and seriously cannot handle the swings of plo....

Sounds to me like you need some bankroll management

i 99.9 percent of the time have excellent brm, then i start out playing heads up in a game that i am rolled for, run bad, then go into orbit and dont stop and as i said, try to play catch up poker... with lhe and mixed, my brm is top notch, i actually stick to 300 bbs... then i decide to play hu plo and BOOM ORBIT... i think i need to just ban myself from hu PERIOD.... i take ultra bad beats, against fish and i get so mad that i want my money back, they suck out a few more times, then rather than leaving, due to not being rolled for that limit, due to the recent spew, i keep going to try and win it back.... im just gonna avoid it and grind up in lhe and mixed, where i have many times succesfully moved up limits and never looked back.... until plo, LUCKILY i cashed most of my roll out before doing this though!!!!!

oh and when i say i tested the waters, it was at two four cent plo, not fifty cent dollar, ya im not that big of a degen lol plo is just a super swingy game and i hate it... lhe has variance, but not like that.... on some plo forums they say a 30 BI downswing is normal, when i lose 30 BI im sick, OVER IT

hey dont forget this is just a game so play it that way. Don't get affected mentally. My advice would be dont play high stakes until u become a poker dominator. I feel u should conti. playing on the tables which made u win.

IMO, looks like you have the same tendancy's i have....
i dont think you would be playing in your BR at $400 pots. no offense... its just i cant see you playing COMFORTABLY and then being so angry at bad beats....
the point of playing comfortably is that you can take bad beats all day long and not be worried about the outcome on your BR..

Yeah, HU is just WAY high variance. You're not alone in your frustration vs donks at HU, a LOT of experienced topnotch players still have quite a bit of variance against them.

I agree when you say you want to quit play HU, it's just not worth the headache and heartache.

Maybe limit your HU game to HUSNG's using FPPs/T$ (or whatever it is your site uses)

yes, i think hu sngs is the way to go, i have a platinum star by my name for the 13 dollar razz hu sngs for 2010, given razz has tons of varience, plus heads up in general does, i CRUSHED them... i think im just gonna go back to that if i need my hu fix lol... other than that, sticking to mixed games and lhe, i have been beating that for ten yrs, not worth crushing that then dumping it all in hu... and @ imnotspecial, i START OUT rolled for 400 pot losses to be OK, then i dont stop, when i start to get underrolled because i get the "this guy is such a fish, how many 70/30's can i possibly lose in a row" mentality and BOOM i find out quick that the answer can be a lot lol...

thank you everyone very much who has posted about this, it is greatly appreciated and to knightofnard, its nice to hear that im not the only one, even though i am pretty much busto for the moment, i at least know that it does happen, and i did a thorough analylsis of the HH and really could not find ANY leaks in my play for that session, i never tilted off or anything, just get super UL.... flop nut flush with something like ackccsjs and the turn pairs after the money goes in, they have something like jc9c4s4h and river the 4, SO SICK! its so hard to get your money in that good in plo, yet i lose every single time i do, its getting gross! oh and knight, do they have HU fpp sngs?

I don't think so.

What i do is register for satellites and if/when i win tickets, I unregister for the T$. I then use the T$ to goof off with new and different games.
