I play online poker at absolute poker. I have been playing for real money for about a year now. I only play SNG's and only at the $6.50 buy in. I have just hit the 3K profit mark. Which I told my self when I did this I would up the stakes. I am just having a hard time doing this. I don't think it's fear so much, but how should I go about starting to play at a higher level? The thing is when I run bad, I run really bad and have a hard time controlling my emotions. I get so pissed when I lose 100 bucks in one sitting, even though I know I will make it back. I think if I up the stakes I will be really pissed when I run bad since I will lose more in that amount of time. Anyone ever had a problem getting to pissed and then donking money off? Also I want to start playing MTT's and maybe even cash game. I have never been good at cash games and never really played to many MTT's. Any advise on where I should start or how different I can expect the game to be in MTT's or cash game.
I feel like I am a very skilled player but I don't really know how much harded the field gets if I want to up the stakes.
Any advise on any of this will be greatly appreciated.

The best would be to schedule your sessions , this is something I learned the hard way . Playing 6 hours straight and not focusing on the game is just a waste of time and money . Good players will have their "auto-mode" where they pull sick grinds with a good ROI but in my case that results in break even or slightly winning (Expect the case when I run really bad and have huge downswings).

If you are not comfortable moving up, then don't. There is no rule that you have to move up and play a higher stake if you don't feel ready to. In fact, it's great that you're honest with yourself about this.
When you do decide to play a higher stake, pick a time when you feel like you're going to play your best. Be well slept, have eaten well, and have done some light exercises beforehand; This will help clear your mind and keep yourself focused.
Moving up isn't going to be a HUGE difference. You will notice slightly better play and fewer idiots on average. If you're a decent player, you're more likely to break even or slowly lose money, you'll have time to notice your mistakes and either fix them or move back down. Give yourself a set amount of money you'll lose before you HAVE to move back down.
Worst thing you can possibly do is tilt and spew though. Maybe put a sticky note on your monitor (if you're playing a higher stake) that says "IF YOU GET ANGRY, QUIT!". I do
We're all human and are emotional creatures by nature, so never take it to heart when you angry and and tilt a bunch, it happens to EVERYONE!

Thanks for the advice guys. I am definitely going to move up, just not right away. I am content making the extra money I am making for right now. Hopefully soon though I will start playing in a higher level. I've met a few people who make a decent amount of money playing nothing but $20-$40 sngs, all day long. I would love to be able to do that and honestly think I am skilled enough to, but the stress and possibility of tilting away a couple hundo in 1 sitting is just something I'm not ready for.
Also if anyone has anymore advice on Cash games or MTT's, lemme know. Thanks again, guys.

I think if you are considering learning to play cash, then try learning micro stakes PLO. The games supposegly are twice as good(profitable) as similiar stakes in NL Holdem. One of my new years resolutions is to get to 100plo by end of next year.

I have never played PLO, or very much Omaha at all. I have always been curious about the game though. Now, never playing cash tables, I need to make sure of something... When you say 100plo you mean the BB is $1.00 right? And if someone says 25nlhe that means the BB is $.25 right?

You got it. It's based the BB value x 100.
I'm playing at the $.05 games, and a full stack buy-in is 100bb's, that equals $5. So 5nl.

Thanks for explaining that to me. That helps.
