Has anyone here played "RUSH" poker on Full Tilt?
The first day I tried it, I made $60 in (believe it or not)
5 cent 10 cent NLHE at $10 buy-in.
At first I was losing heavily, but I noticed that it was
because I never got paid off for my good hands.
So I started betting anything in any position, opening for 3 BB.
If I got raised I folded.
If I got called, I played the flop normally.
But I got called only about 1 time in 10, so I was stealing the blinds
like crazy. They can add up very quickly at 5 hands per minute.
And even if I got called with 8-4, if the flop gave me two pair or better,
nobody believed I had hit, and they would call me all in.
Unless they sucked out, I would win a large pot.
---But then---
Later in the day, I noticed I got re-raised preflop a lot more.
Suddenly, I was back to losing.
At first, I thought it was just a different crowd, maybe better players.
But then it occurred to me. Do RUSH players take notice of who is raising too often?
I mean sure, the action is fast and furious, but you CAN hit the "sit out" button and take notes on players.
My guess is that I am now pegged as a maniac, and I will get called by any reasonable hand when I bet.
So today I slowed down. I still bet a lot looser than I do in a normal online ring game, but I only made $4, and only after I had gone down considerably, and finally got action on a flopped nut flush that nobody believed I had.
The normal ring games on FTP are very tight-aggressive, and the players there are very good at noting the tendencies of their opponents.
My plan now is to go back to RUSH and play more tight, and hope that my loose image will still get me paid off on my good hands.
And oh yeah--- I'm taking notes
