Unhappy Sick of Losing my Bankroll HELP!

    Hi,

I have been playing online poker for a year now and I consider myself a fairly good player, I haved played on both Fulltilt and Pokerstars, but have played more Fulltilt,

I can't even remember the amount of times I have deposited on either site(mainly fulltilt) with $50, and have played proper, good poker, at the right stakes(1c/2c) for ring games, and $1 sng's/mtt's. Anyway it usually takes me about 2 weeks of solid playing to build my bankroll to maybe $75 or even $100 in my limits, but there is one time where I completely have the urge to buy into these high limit super turbo heads up games for no particular reason, than by winning quick money, so I start at maybe a $2 one lose that, move upto $5, then $10 and before u know it im flipping coins for my whole bankroll! And 95% of the time all my hard work is gone in 1 stupid game.

What can I do to help myself, I am a good player, but have discipline problems, I want to keep a bankroll and move up in limits properly, I don't want to play these heads up super turbo's but I can't help myself, even if I filter it out, i always end up taking the filter off to play..and it just leads to disaster

    I need advice please.

Im in the exact position, I feel its because, when I lose some of my bankroll, for instance $10-$20 I start to think oh dear need to boost this up quik, i panic and move up to much higher stakes (still basic micro) which is still high for my low bankroll... And thats were i lose it all.

Ive deposited rather a lot and lost rather a lot, because of this one fault i have which is, i have no discipline at all.
The only time i stop is when Im bust.
Im just going to try and learn some self disciplin and give up being such a gambler.

Good luck to you man, i Know i need the luck as well

It's a discipline thing pretty much. There's not really anything anyone can tell you, because you know what you're doing wrong yet you still end up doing it. Speaking from experience, it just takes time and growing as a person. Maybe you're in a rut in life. Try something new and outside your comfort zone. Broaden your horizons. That's about all I can think of that helped my BR management.

I played last night after posting on here, i kept to the lower limits, stayed on the small tables, did about 4 tables at once on micro and played tight, doubled up my bankroll within two hours.
Knew it was getting late and i would probably lose concentration and start playing those wacky hands so i came off, normaly i carry on because i got nothing better to do.

Im gonna start being more self disciplined, worked last night, but yeah like the post above, have to teach ourself as we grow.

Im one of those type of players who lack discipline.. I would go on as to building my bankroll from as little of $50 to $5,000, and once I'm up there my whole mentality takes a new form. I no longer have any motivation to build more or a better term would be complacent, but when I do lose a certain good amount I panic and try to build it back up by playing higher limits I would eventually either lose it all or feel so sick and take all the rest of the money and go on a break. It's really damn frustrating I can't buildup after a certain amount.

Taking some time off helps INCREDIBLY.

Try taking at least a week off from playing poker. A month would help more.

I used to have this problem also, at one point I have up to 3k! and I went to a $300/$600 table and lost it all

There are two things that I do now that help me: Find a poker buddy that will help you give advice and watch your game play (someone watching you makes your drastically play better.)

The other was to create a blog so I could stay on focus. Mine is www.makingpokereasy.com

Errrr if you're consistently losing then I wouldnt class yourself as a 'fairly good player'. Give up and go home
