I have a theory, actually, I know this to be true in my head but want to see if others agree....online poker does not follow the mathematical laws of live poker. Example one. the original raiser more often than not wins. so, BB with QQ and you get raised all in by say A4 off. You call. Live, more times than not the Queens would stand up. Online, the ace hits nearly every time. Example 2. slow playing AA. Just out of sheer bloody mindedness, yesterday, heads up in a 10 seater S n G, I got AA. Flat called. flop - QQK; check check. Turn a K. check check. River a Q. I bet, he raised i called he hd Q4! Now, occasionally I could live with this, but it is every time. slow playing a hand live you expect and take the risk of and accept that you can get beat. Of course, but EVERY time! My point is it is NOT mathematically possible. So, what is the answer? Surely this is cheating. Unless you log every scenario that happens online for say a year, which quite frankly I aint doing, I have a life, it is impossible to win playing the same as you do live! Live I am up, a fair bit. Online, I'm down, playing the same way...you do the maths!!!

yeah , I don't know wot the other think ? must be some players here that spend plenty time on
online play ...?
My gut feeling though is just to try and find a better site ......
are the blinds fixed (cash poker) or do the increase (tourney style) ?
I played a little on facebook, in the cash style rooms with fixed blinds and found that some ppl
would bet with anything .... so I would got to other tables (still in facebook poker)
and find other ppl that played better poker (same cash format though) ,
don't know if any of this ramble helps ? lol

i have a supporting theory

this is long so kick back...alright check it. IT IS SOFTWARE...someone "programmed" it. it runs in certain cycles and alot of times seems to relate to chip stacks/posistion/and time left in a tourney. seems x amount of people are always out by a certain stage in multi table games. also, 3 outers and 2 outers just dont happen that often. literally every time i sit at a table i get boned. i have my hand histories compiled in a spreadsheet and i get my money in good 87% of the time when i get knocked out, and its usually like aj suited vs q5 of same suit flops a 5. kk vs a5o, ak vs aq,q inevitably comes. hell i had aces heads up vs a9 all in pre flops a 9 rivers a 9 on the 1st hand! guy makes a terrible shove with a8 off into a board of kqa i have kq. i lead for the pot (950) i have 5k behind he shoves 6k i call (this is the bubble btw i was 2nd with 3 left) comes runner 44 to bust me...why? because like a retard most ppl (me 2 at times) immediatley register for another one! what im sayin is that it creates action scenarios based on human tendencies and multiple other variables. i did some programming in college, and its basically an "if then else" idicator. basically you tell the program "if" this happens "then" do this..."else" do this. so based on how you play, you can utilize it. sometimes i can call the boards and know based on how the hand was played if ill hit my draw or not. sounds like bs, but trust me, i dumped 5k online last year, yet managed to make 8k live, and i started taking hand histories and breaking down my play because i shouldnt have been losing. the worst are the heads up matches. you could play for hours against another person live and not have the scenarios and suck outs and coolers that the internet provides. i think that the "aggressive" play you described is prolly one of the triggers for the scenarios in my theory; the bad shove seems to win way too often. i dunno, take a look...there are alot of trends and patterns that arise when playing. my buddy and i multi table on four screens specifically to try and catalogue the patterns, but its tedious. as of now i still get railed eventually no matter how good i get my chips in, but maybe someday i can at least consistantly dodge certain hands that i refer to as "setups" its that or blow off online poker all together because all the sites are the same in essence. when we get enough data we are going to email it to the site we use to see what their response is. i dunno, what do ya think?

I'll wait to see legitimate proof via many many thousands of hands. Even though whining conspiracy theorists tend to manipulate their data to suit their view.

A ton of people make their living by playing poker online. If it was really rigged against good players, this wouldn't happen. And you do better live because live players are donks. If you're a breakeven 20NL player online, you'll be amazing in a live 200NL game.

Hello, all, I am new to the forums and thought this was a great post to reply to. Whether you want to use the word "rigged" or some other word, there IS something that is fishy. I love how people who think that such unfair practices could be possible are AUTOMATICALLY considered stupid, illogical, etc... To these people, it's just a bunch of losers who can't take losing and have to blame others. Let's stop demonizing one another and making assumptions so we can focus on the MATTER at hand. To begin with, when I lose the majority of the time with my money in good online, then yes, I am going to BLAME someone else because statistically speaking, such things do not occur. People think; why would they rig it AGAINST you? Or him? They don't rig it AGAINST anyone... they do it to speed the tournaments up, therefore more tournaments can be played. On Full Tilt, it is almost impossible to win against bigger stacks even when you're amazingly favored... why? I believe it is to speed the tournaments up. I LITERALLY just lost such a tournament on Full Tilt 30 minutes ago, again! I am BB, K 6 off... a couple of limpers, and I check to see the flop; K 6 9 is the board, 2 of the same suits... so it's checked to me, and I check my 2-pair, next dude bets about 1/2 the pot... (now, remember, those people who live in a world where ONLINE POKER CAN'T BE RIGGED... IT JUST CAN'T lmfao, very logical, claim that people who lose do so because they're bad players, or need to improve; just keep this in mind) so, my terrible skills puts the player on a Q with a very good kicker, so I reraise 3-4x his bet, he pushes all-in, and I insta-call... he shows KQ, like I thought, and I'm happy... turn card..... Q! Of course, a Q comes right out, and guess what, he had double my stack at the time. It's truly amazing. The simple fact that I play at the casino and win the majority of the time and play online poker and constantly lose, playing the same exact way, shows something is wrong. Math doesn't change... if I'm staring at a computer screen or I'm at the table and we're playing the same game, the cards must come out in a similar manner... not true. I truly believe something is wrong and I wish these companies would be exposed.
