    any of you guys read The mathematics of poker by william chen ahd jerrod ankenman?

    has it improved your game?
    what concepts do you find most useful?

    started to read, drop it. It was too complex for me to understad. I actually read maybe a third of it before dropping it, so, to answer the question, it did not improve my game.

    jharding said it was a bit over the top and it's written by an asian. 99% of your poker math will only ever be pot odds and equity which is like primary school stuff.

    Word on the street is it takes about 143 years to read.
    For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

    I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

    Soulread by me: I was about to say MJPerry would say something about flush draws and asians, since he read my pamphlet of poker politicly incorrect tells...

    I think the best book for learning "poker math" is Harrington on Holdem.

    There are enough real life problems in there where he goes through the math step by step, that you learn enough to be able to put it into practice during your play.

    I didn't absorb it all in the first reading, but I kept it as a bathroom reader for a year or two, and now most of it is embedded in my brain. I am surprised at how quickly I can analyze situations at the tables now.
