5 pounds is about 5 bucks right?
so your basically hosting a sng..

make sure the chips add up to 5 bucks/pounds total, use .5/.10.25 and .1 for chips. usually the lighter the color the lower the value, doesnt make any difference either way.

rebuys arent a bad thing, thats why you should make the chips equal whatever the buy in is.

as for blinds, if you start with .1/.2 or .2/.4 you can raise each time a player is eliminated or for a quicker game, raise them say, every fifteen minutes.

Structure we had yonks ago for home game was:

750 starting chips (7x 50 chips, 10x 20, 20x 10), blinds starting at 10/20 and going up every 30 mins (or longer if you want a long game, shorter for a quick game obv). That usually gave us scope to play 2 games a night with about 8 in each.

Slightly more accurate given the state of your economy.

This is bad advice. Since it is a SnG (He mentions blinds going up & people getting knocked out) it doesnt matter what the chips add up to as long as everyone has the same amount. We usually play with between $1000 & $5000 worth of chips depending on the blind levels and how long we want to play for

thejoker: How many of each color do you have? The key is to ensure that the blinds are proportionate with how many chips you start with. Another important question is how long do you want the game to go for? 1 hour or 3 hours? The good thing about a 1 hour game is you can have another one after, and then another. For a 3 or 4 hour game, if someone gets knocked out in 1/2 an hour things can get boring for them
