I dont play for a living but between live games and online I make about 2x's as much as I do at my job, I dont trust myself enough to quit my job and just purely play poker but I do pretty well. I think you have to be very good with a pretty big roll to live comfortablly off online poker.

grinding 25nl for a living is insane, you'd have to put in crazy hours.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

Depends what your job is.

10 actual bb/100 hands is easily sustainable which is $2.50/100 hands.
6 tabling that you could get 500 hands/hr or $12.50/hr. Maybe an extra $5/hr in rakeback puts you at $17.50hr. Not worth quitting an accountancy job but beats working in a Wetherspoons pub.

Look at it this way: Would you rather flip burgers, or scrub dishes for 10 hours a day at $10/hour. Or, would you rather fold hand, after hand, after hand, 10 hours a day making $10/hour. Seems like a pretty easy choice to me.

Obviously I don't do it but it has to be one of the most stressful things ever. Knowing I have to win in order to pay rent, bills, and other expenses. Granted I am sure any player that does this for a living has a good chunk of change saved up as reserve funds. However, it still must be very stressful
