I still play on low levels but I think it is prudent to consider now, the best way to proceed in regards to how well I am known across the spectrum of poker servers or if I should endevor to remain anonymous. I have secured the same handle on a couple of different playing sites and many general sites (cardplayer.com, etc.)
What concerns me is that if I do eventually reach the upper levels, that people who read my posts will gain information about me that is best that they don't have. But perhaps if I become a solid and tight/aggresive player then a general fear of me (intentionally cultivated) might be in my favour?
I notice that pro's like Gus Hansen etc, are not afraid to be completly honest and revealing about their thoughts and strategies in their blogs.
Also I have been wondering - what do u think is better - chatting and being friendly on tables or maintaining complete silence?

Different names on different sites?
Like people may know me here but only a handful know my screen-name where I play. For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

Well you might be able to use your reputation to your advantage by doing what you "say", and your opponents outthink themselves. "He can't possibly have that", and you do.

Regardless, you should be mixing up your play anyway. Players will recognize you, and you will recognize them. You're going to create an image if you play often, and that is simply part of the game. Create your image, recognize it, and adjust.
Well over $300,000 free every month in 2011 with freerolls, rake races, and rake chases!
www.RakeGuard.com has the highest rakeback percentages available.
RakeGuard...more than just rakeback.

Alot of good advice thanks.
Good comments about bluffing, needing having a mixed strategy anyway and creating an image.
I guess the main decision is weather or not to reveal your other sites screen names to people who know you.

Look at all the pros that play online, half of them have books, really I wouldn't worry about people knowing your strategy and the best stategy for poker is one that is constantly changing and adapting
