won 2600 in a day before, 13 buyins at 1/2. biggest losing day was only 2000, but i've been through some swings recently where i've lost 2-3k in like 1/2 an hour....always been able to recover though.

Hmm
I have never won or lost much in any one sitting, always played small games so I have won small or lost small.
I remember one time though I wiped out like $50 in my bankroll one night which is a lot when you have maybe $300, $400, that's a bad, bad night.
I would say the best night was probably only $100 when I finished 4th in this larger tournament. I've had lots of $30, $40, $50 nights.
Compared to you guys that is SMALL potatoes. But I have fun and win consistently overall so that's what's important to me. It's just a hobby for me.
I will never be satisfied with this hobby, however, until I win a larger tournament and actually win some money. I don't even care if it's a $5 buy-in and I only win like $400, just to finish first in a large tournament is a goal of mine. I don't play them all that often but I've played this 90 person SnG a lot, that one is fun, double chip stacks, slower blind increases, and top 20% paid, so it's not only a lot more fair but favors better players. I cashed in that tournament 4 out of 5 times once. My highest finish was 4th though. I've made some final tables at larger tournaments but those winnings were like $40, $50, etc. Not anything huge.

In Poker the most I have lost is $1,000 in a session because I limit myself to 2 buyins, if I lose 2 it's just not my night (This is live by the way, I only play low limits online)
Blackjack I have had nights that I have taken home profit of $15k, and I have had nights when I have lost close to that aswell

I have in the past had a very bad tendency to play to "win my money back" and I distinctly remember one night where I refused to sleep until I won back what i had lost. I did in fact accomplish this goal around 7:15 a.m. It was... well, it wasn't a good idea. I played for like 9 hours and won a total of $1.
I read some great advice in this one article that made me pause and think and really evaluate my game before I play any further in any given night. It said if you are losing, that's not when you want to keep playing to "win it back," but when you want to quit because not only will it start to affect your play but you're just not going to have fun. Conversely, it said when you are winning keep on playing. Don't say, "Well gosh I just won a tournament I mean I know I only played once tonight but what if I lose the next three?" I honestly used to think that way. I would play and if I won the first tournament of the night sometimes I'd just quit for the day, figuring I wasn't going to do much better than finish up $15 or so anyway.
Now, though, I tend to play for a set period of time and even if I lose 5 in a row I will keep playing as long as I can convince myself that I am not on tilt and that I am in fact still playing good poker. If I start to think of "mixing up my game" then I realize it's time to quit. My game at this point is not perfect maybe but it's a very winning game and if I start thinking I "should have called with that A-5, you never know, he might have had Q-K and I might have won instead of having to push all-in with that 10-J the next hand and running into queens" then it's time to quit for the day.
I had just such a losing streak before my current hot streak a few days ago. That night ended awesome and I was so glad I didn't give up. I had been on a nice run, then I lost 5 SnGs in a row which for me is just really awful, I was losing every coin flip, every time I had the odds I'd lose, I was just not able to get any luck that I needed. I cashed in only 3 out of 10 tournaments during that day, until I played two more to end the night. Playing them both at once, I finished first in both tournaments within 5 minutes of each other and was not only back to even but up for the day. Not to mention that was the first time I had won two tournaments at a time when I was multi-tabling (I've finished 1st and 2nd, 2nd and 2nd, 3rd and 3rd, etc. numerous times but winning 'em both at once is a great feeling, I had done that last week with 6 person SnGs but never the 9s). That convinced me that I was indeed correct to keep playing despite the losing streak because after those two (I had cashed in 2 of the 3 before that, but a 2nd and 3rd), I had turned around the streak to 4 out of 5 cashes.
It's good to set some sort of a limit though, a quitting point, where if such and such happens you call it a night. At this point though I understand that with great winning streaks come some unbelievable losing streaks. I was doing the typical rant last week about how I swear to god Full Tilt must be rigged because since I had been playing there my ROI was at 4% yet over 400 tournaments on Google Page Ranking it was 22% and I'm a much better player now. But now my ROI on Full Tilt has recovered rapidly and now I think it must be rigged in my favor because that site just loves me the last few days
That's poker right? I never thought the site was rigged, by the way, I'm just joking. But you get that feeling like The Poker Gods are angry at you!
