Hello Claire and welcome to the forums!

By coming here to learn, you've definitely taken the right step towards being a winning player.

The first thing I recommend is that you read read read. The poker Bible, considered by many to be the best is called Super System (a course in power poker). It was written by the poker living legend, Doyle Brunson and some of his friends. I have read and reread this book, and it covers all aspects of poker. Another great book is Harrington on Hold em', written by Dan Harrington.

There are also a lot of online articles that can be useful. I have posted a few at the bottom of my site that I've found to be helpful.

Also, if you ever come across a hand that you played where you think you could have played it better or you just want feedback on how others would have played it, post it here! To make it easier for you and everyone else, use a hand converter tool such as: FTR-Poker Hand History Converter Tool-Full Tilt,PokerStars,PartyPoker for your post.

Good luck with your poker studies, and let us know how you are doing from time to time.

    Cheers!

Hi Claire, you can download a ton of the best poker books in this thread: Torrent of Poker Books

You'll need WinRAR to open the .rar file, and Adobe Reader to open the books (.pdf files).

As well as the ones mr. rakeguard suggested, you should also read The Theory of Poker by David Sklansky, and Small Stakes Hold'em if you play cash games regularly.

    Good luck in your endeavours!

    Welcome to the forum Claire!
Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R

KRE8R probably has about seventy college funds in his NL5 roll.

For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

    Hello and welcome!

I highly recommend Dan Harringtons 3 book series Tournament Texas Hold'em. Play tight solid poker until you gain a bit of experience. Then you can begin to open up your game from there.

Take care and good luck at the tables.

    Curtom
