With SnGs you just need to stick around to 2nd or 3rd place to be in the money. It's possible to do this consistently with the right set of rules for yourself. In this case you're not "playing" poker, you're playing the SnG structure.
Occasionally the table is way tight. Or moves reaaaally slow. In either case, too many players stick around for this strategy to work... And that's where you introduce a little bit of variance by throwing out some well-timed plays.
