On Monday night I entered a $10 re-buy tournament on a semi-popular poker website. There were 30 or so people in it and a fair number of rebuys. It was kind of dumb, but I entered the tourny knowing I had to meet my GF at a bar for 10. Since it started at 7 with so few people, I figured 3 hrs was plenty. Wrong. I did alright, and got lucky a couple of times and was close enough to the money, that at that point I could almost post and fold to 5th place, and $98. So, stupid me, sitting in about 3'rd or 4th at the final table I reluctantly headed out to meet GF hitting post and fold.

So I got home a while ago and found, quite happily that I finished in second. Here's the kicker! I reviewed my game history to see what happened and, on the third hand from the end, all but a little of my piddly pile became the big blind - against the last 2 players, who were almost even. It must have been obvious I was PFing so they just raised me down. But this time they actually got into it. THe SB raised ME but the other guy raised and they eventually ended up both all-in (and me too). The bigger stack had TT, the smaller QQ. I had 8,J. the flop came 9,6,7. Nothing for either of the big stacks, an outside straight draw for me. (if you know poker, you know what's wrong with this - remember, I AM NOT HERE at this point). The turn is an Ace - no help for anybody, but the river is another T. The big stack now has trips tens, the other big stack is out (in 3rd) and because I hit the straight, I double up. BUT I WASN' THERE, remember?

Well, Zik, my cat sleeps on my desk, in front of (and behind, if I'm there) my keyboard. Sometimes when he's flopping around like a cat does, his paws hit computer keys. It's usually annoying but it's actually pretty funny as he's done it when Iwas playing poker and made inadvertant bets for me (twice he's done that). Well he must have done that tonight, when the all in bets were made, because I should have been folded when my blind was raised. But somewhow... "I" called. HE was sleeping on the table when I got home.

I honestly can't find another possibility and mt buddy already read the notes on the game to verify I'm seeing it properly. IS that unbelievable or what!?! My cat made me $127 bucks by hitting a key within the right 10 seconds!

Could there be another explanation?
