Please explain how this satellite on PS works:
$2.20 sat to sunday hundred grand. One entry to tournament xxxx for every $11.00 in the prize pool. It costs $2+$0.20 to enter this satellite. Remaining funds will be awarded to the player finishing immediately behind the qualifiers. There is no payoff structure listed (or at least not during registration).
Does this mean that if there are, say, 66 participants in this satellite the top 21 will receive a free entry into that big sunday tournament (if I'm doing my math right)? Also, what is the payoff structure for this satellite, standard sort of structure or do the top 21 not get any money and instead get entry into that tournament?
Thanks in advance.

If there are 66 entrants, then 6 people will get seat if im doin the math right. If 1 person for every $11, isnt that 6 people? then the remaining amount of money that DOESNT equal $11 will go to 7th place.

Thank you, that would make sense but I think I may be reading it incorrectly. If there are 66 entrants at $2 per entry then that's $132, and if there is one entry into the sunday tourney for every $11 then that's 12 entries ($132/$11 = 12) into the sunday tourney.
So apparently the top 12 don't get any money but get into the sunday tourney.
But I don't see the positive of that. Personally, I'd rather have money and then if I want to I'd enter the sunday tourney for $11. The sunday tourney is open to all so winning a spot seems the same to me as playing some other non-satellite tourney and winning money and then simply using some of that money (or adding some to it if it isn't enough) to play in the sunday tourney.
I guess I'm reading too much into it, it's not something wow what a great deal it's just another format -- the top 12 (if there are 66 entrants) all get the same thing (something worth $11 if they already want to play in the sunday tourney).
If I'm missing something about this someone please let me know.

If you qualify by winning a sat to that tourney then you can unregister from it for $11 tournament dollars which can be used to register for any sit n gos or other tournaments. Oh and I wouldnt really think of the sunday hundred grand as a "Big" tournament. Maybe by # of entrants but the payout isnt anywhere near the size of the Sunday Million

if you dont want to play in the tournament. go to psmoney.com. They trade T$ for real money at a 91% exchange rate.

That makes sense, so you can get in the top 12 of this satellite which gains you entry into the $11 "big" sunday tourney (I'm a small fish in a small pond playing $1.20 18-person sng's so to me the sunday hundred grand tourney is a "big tourney" lol) but you can unregister to get $11 added to your PS account instead if you want.
In thinking about this that's probably how most satellites work, instead of winning money you win the equivalent amount in a bigger tourney; such as winning a $100 tourney to win an entry into a $2000 tourney or whatever. Many people can probably justify in their financial situation entering a $100 tourney but plopping $2000 down is a lot tougher for some people.
If the top 12 out of 66 get in then it seems that there may be a lot of coasting to try to get into the top 12. One reason to play aggressive is to try to win a tourney but if 12th and 1st are the same then maybe there's not as much need to be as aggressive?
