This became an abortion thread? I havent even read that part yet lol. I'm pro-life i guess but i don't feel as strongly on that.

Even your God would allow homosexuality or the union between homosexuals to not be prohibited by law. That's free will. He sorts them out. To place the judgement yourself is a sin as well. It's the sin of pride. It is on the same level as lust.

The Bible that I grew up on places NO sin above or below any other.

Grow up, understand the basic principles of the law of our land in your U.S. history class, or go to NPR or findlaw.com and look at some Supreme Court briefs and you'll see what I'm saying.

There is Biblical law that infringes on basic fundamentals rights to live life without infringing on anyone else's. That's the law of the land. If you still can't deal with it, petition the Constitution. Good luck with that.

He just need to get older to see some things more clearly.. I remember believing in God and Bible too when i was at his age. I am so ashamed of that now.

And to be clear i think believing in God is not a bad thing (although i dont believe) but interpreting the bible so fanatically is a crime.

God is already out of the picture. The debate is really about the rule of law. If the church mattered then athiests couldn't marry. Fortunately, the church doesn't have any bearing on marriage and two people who have no use for christian mythology or other religious superstitions can get married and their marriage is just as legal and valid as any sanctioned by a church.

If the rule of law is modified to allow same sex marriage, it will still have no effect on the churches. The church will still have veto power over members who chose to follow its superstitions and no sway whatsoever over those who don't. This is as it should be.

Because that's a foundational principle of the constitution? That's pretty good for starters. Establishment clause and what not.
