Default Logical Math Puzzle!

3 businessmen, A,B, and C would like to know the average of their salaries. The only problem is no one wants to disclose his salary. How can they find this while keeping their salaries private.

Have each of them write it down on a piece of paper and fold it. Put it in a hat, mix it up, pull them out and find the average.

here's an idea, person A thinks of an arbitrary number > 10 million, then subtracts from it his salary, he then takes the new number and tells B to subtract his salary from it and then ask C to do the same. A then subtracts his original number from the final number from C and divides it by 3 to find the average.

Their salaries are still not completely private because the first guy then knows what the combination of the other two's salaries. It depends on your definition of private. I'm curious to know the answer--if it really follows the rules set by the riddle.

After you find the average doesn't everyone know the sum of the other two business men's salary?

Person C writes down a random number and passes it to A. A writes down the sum of his salary and the random number and passes to B. B writes down the sum of A's number and his salary and passes to C. C adds his salary, subtracts the original number, divides by 3, and reveals to all.
