Default Another(fairly easy) math problem

There is a racetrack that is one mile long. After one lap your average speed is 60mph. What speed do you have to go on the second lap to make the total average speed 120mph. Show your work.

sry im playing 3 sngs but... your total speed would have to be 240mph

so it would be 240 - the 60mph on the first lap which would equal 180 mph

Um... Am I missing something? 2 laps... (60 + x)/2=120...60 + x = 240... x = 180...?

No because when you go faster the time is smaller and the average will always be less then 120.

120 is the limit. If you were to graph it, your average mph would keep rising like an exponential curve but you would never reach 120.
