I would suggest reading until you have a general idea about what you want to ask and then coming back and asking more specific questions.

1st thing you need to do is deicide what game you want to play.

Cash games or tournaments?

Hold'em or 7 card stud or omaha and so on.

Then ask around as to which is the best book to buy for your game of choice.

After that I would play for a while with play money just to get the flow of the game with out risking real money.

Last start playing micro on the site of your choice.
