Default Omg 1st Workout in 8 months

KK, so I'm trying the Body for Life thing ONLY because I have no time to work out, and I needed a compact exercise routine that I enjoy and can switch up to avoid plateus in muscle stimuli. My first workout was today, and the easiest way to explain it is a low-intensity pyramid - BUT! - it's not quite a "low intensity" b/c you only get 1 minute rests inbetween each of your 6 sets, and 2 minute rests before starting your new exercise. It breaks down to be 10 exercises in 45 minutes including the rest. 3 days per week. On the off days, only 20 minutes of Cardio...can you say dream workout schedule?!? I used to work 1 part per day 6 days per week and 1 1/2 hours per day, so this is going to a breeze in comparison. I gotta get down to 210 lbs or so guys, so I have about 40 lbs to go! I just started my ECA stack too - so I expect to lose weight real quick...

But Fucc, am I ONE tired guy!!! I feel like a bag of crushed assholez right now. I'm going to bed after a session. Gnite!

a bag of crushed assholez huh? very colorful.

what's an ECA stack? why do you have to lose weight? just cuz you want to or what?

keep us posted how this new thingie goes for you, even though i'm not totally sure i followed all your post. sets of what? i just got home from school two days ago and i'm thinking of joining a gym down here for the summer but the laziness is winning so far. hope your thing goes well so maybe i'll get inspired.

little rest in between is the way to go to lose weight, it turns your anaerobic weightlifting workout into an aerobic workout.

Also unless you are doing steroids you shouldn't lift weights more than 4 days a week, your body just cannot recuperate fast enough without chemical enhancement to keep up with that type of stimulus.

I would assume that if he's 250 now he needs to lose weight not only to look better but for health reasons. 250 is a lot of weight to carry around all day.

After you done all your diet stuff and plateau, switch to HIIT. basically it's sprint like a mofo and jog alternating. You can look it up - HIIT not HIT. Helped me get down to 5% bodyfat in Jan.

No kidding Coash...I'll look into it. I used to be really into weights,Missy, and used to be pretty ripped, I just felt it was appropriate to get in shape again. Steve-O you are very correct on the aerobic aspect, i think that's what maked the program so successful to date. I'm not planning on lifting 4 days a week btw, I'm only lifting 3 times per week, and the other 3 days its cardio

Missy, just for your knowlede, an "ECA Stack" is a weight loss method. It's comprised of 25mg of Ephedrine, 200mg of caffeine, and 325 mg of Asprin. The reasoning is the ephedrine is a "bronchial dialator (ie it opens your airways), the caffeine speeds up your heart rate, and the aspirin thins your blood. The whole idea is to increase body temp and burn fat by even just watching T.V.

Most people should already kow that 80% of your gains inweight loss or muscle gain come from proper diet. I have cuyt out all pop, juice, and fast food. I measure all portions - and have done so all week.

I started the program @ 253lbs, and am currently at 248lbs. I will update if anyone cares to see how I am progressing. By the way I can barely scratch my back or type right now...

Diggs isn't ephedrine banned? also only stay on the aspirin for 3 months or it will fuck up your stomach, or I should say COULD fuck up your stomach.

My workout advice was for your previous schedule where you did 6 days.

your a little misinformed with that 80%, yes most of your weight loss is from diet but diet will not gain muscle mass only strength training does that. And through more muscle mass you burn more calories.

a pound of fat burns 4 calories a day

a pound of muscle burns 80

lose 2 pounds of fat and gaining 3 pounds of muscle would result in a 1LB weight gain but would burn an extra 148 calories a day. hence the reason many people initially gain weight when they start lifting weights and then start losing it after 3 months, they burn more calories as they gain more muscle mass.

My workouts are similar to my sports training, just less days, obviously.

On Tuesday, I jog a mile, walk half a mile to cool down, lift in sets, and hit the sauna. Thursday, I hit the bike for half and hour, hit the same Tae-Bo class that I've hit since my fist year, walk a mile slowly as a cool down.

In high school, I did 2 days of weight and 3-4 of cardio. I'm in fairly good shape for my lifestyle and the weights keep me toned and distributing my weight properly. The cardio just minimizes potential heart problems in my family. I am a student in a fast food, hot dog, pizza city and I'm a smoker. Cardio enhances my endurance which is really my key.

4 days of weights require a good build up. Going from 2 to 3 days is a big jump and 4 is definitely a max.

Default Second Week

Hey guys,

Just completed my first week:

1) Cut my eating really clean. 6 meals a day - 40/40/20 splits for Protein/Carb/EFA's
2) Lost 4 lbs in total. I took a before picture and woooooooooooey - terrible!
3) Follwing the program to a "t" - beating the shit out of the weights.
4) Having more sex - good for cardio.

I will keep you guys (and Missy) informed...but so far so good.
