Hi, Hows it going this is my first post here I have a question. I'm looking at starting a bankroll i feel my game is almost good enough to start a bankroll and take the game a little more serious. My question is whats the proper amount for a bankroll for cash games low limit such as 1-2 NL or 2-5 NL i hear 25x the max buy in is this correct? Or is their a better strategy behind it I dont want to cut any corners or come in under prepared I feel my game is pretty strong in low limit NL and advice would be great.
Thank you

Bankroll

Good question. It's one that I've asked a few times myself.
I've cut out my 1-3 bankroll from total scratch. I never set aside a lump sum of money to go from. That being said, it's still a better idea to have 10 buyins+. Of course you don't always have that luxary so it can be difficult.
What is the level of game that you have been beating recently? What is the amount of money you have available to start a bankroll with?

if you're talking about a live rather than online, i think 15 buyins is probably ok. so i'd play 1-2 as soon as i had $3000 and 2-5 when i got up to $7500

I have been beating 1-2, and 1-3 NL consistent enough im confident enough in my game to play 2-5 but like I said i dont want to jump into something underprepared so to speak. The amount of money available depends on the game like I said i hear 25x max buy in which in 1-2Nl would put me at $5,000 as for 2-5NL would be $12,500 i can invest into 1-2NL at the moment if thats the correct bankroll and either build a bankroll or invest some more in time.
Excuse my grammar I know the commas and periods are not in perfect placing

Due to a much larger edge on the field and less hands/h 15-20x buyins would be acceptable I think, if I'm right in thinking there is no .5/1 games to drop down to maybe use 20 for NL200 as it is the smallest limit you can go to and 15 for NL500 with the plan to drop back down if you go below 5500 or so.

It still remains poker but it's a different brand.
Playing online allows players to be sloppier in the more physical aspect of the game and also steals away the physical edge that solid live players can acquire.
This poker software stuff is total BS too. Anyone who can just grab helpful stats from a stupid computer is just cheating. In a live game you need to collect those stats over hours and hours of play with your regular opponents. You also need to pick it up on the players who you don't know much about.
Here is a funky scenario. Say you have 2 very good NL players. One player has played a little bit of live poker, but makes his living on the computer. Another player has dabbled in online play, but cuts out his living in live play.
If you were to take these 2 players and pit them against eachother in both rings, live and online, which player would have the odds stacked greater against him?
It is my contention that the live player would have a better chance of beating the online player in the online game than the online player would have playing live against the live player.
I'm obviously biased though.
