MOGADISHU, Somalia — Five of the Somali pirates who released a hijacked oil-laden Saudi supertanker drowned with their share of a reported $3 million ransom after their small boat capsized, a pirate and port town resident said Saturday.
Pirate Daud Nure says the boat with eight people on board overturned in a storm after dozens of pirates left the Sirius Star following a two-month standoff in the Gulf of Aden that ended Friday.
This makes me laugh so much. I would have popped some popcorn and watched if I could have. The United States should have fixed the problem in Somalia in the 90s. We would have if Clinton was not so spineless. Just my opinion.

I read an article a couple months ago about this topic. It was an opinion article on CNN calling for just this; going back to actively hunting and hanging pirates. If you think about it, pirates went away for a very long time when they were hunted down and killed on sight.
People now consider hunting down criminals and executing them barbaric. In today's world, everything needs to be legal and not infringing on the rights of others. In this case, it's infringing on the sovereignty of the Somalian government. Somalia basically doesn't care. The UN won't get involved for whatever bs reasons they are saying, so it's a field day for the pirates.
What's most mind boggling to me is instead of infringing on the rights of some criminals we are instead allowing them to freely infringe on the rights of all the innocent people trying to transport their goods by sea.

It's not exactly easy to track down pirates (I wouldn't think), but OT: lol @ them all abandoning and the ones that stayed capsized the goods/boat.

I read today that a Pirate body washed up on the Somali shores with 175,000 bucks. How's them 15 virgins trating you?
